Here is the requested F.A.Q. for Forum Users.
This is a read-only thread, no need to reply. If you have suggestions for what to add to this list, PM me.
added 08/21/09: There is a long-standing problem with this and many other forums on the internet. If you have an interest in improving your own participation in any forum, check out these articles on critiquing writing - they are handy for forums, too:

Is this the official Mark Lanegan Forum?
No - this little BBS is an extension of the onewhiskey.com website. The official forum at marklanegan.com has been removed.
Why was the official forum removed? Will it return?
The answer to both is: I do not know. Wait and see.
If I post something here, will it be read by anyone in the Mark Lanegan Band?
As this is a publicly accessible internet site, that is always a possibility.
Is there an official taping policy for Lanegan shows?
None that I am aware of. Many people do tape shows, and trade them freely with other fans - whether this is appreciated or condoned I can't say. I will say that anyone attempting to sell 'bootleg' material will get the boot from this forum.
If I have an article, review, or photos, should I post them here?
Certainly, if you wish! Please also send them to me by email, so they can be included in the appropriate section on the onewhiskey.com website. Anything posted here but not emailed to me cannot be included on the site. Please remember to include a relevant subject line in your email, specifically to do with Lanegan, so that I can recognise your letter in my mailbox! Mail to: onewhiskey @ aol.com
What if I didn't like the album or the show? Can I still post and send in my opinion?
OPINIONS are always welcome - we are all entitled to them. If you feel strongly enough to want to share your view, that is fine: let us know WHY you disliked something, don't just say it sucked. Please refrain from making personal comments/attacks directed at any band members or board members - stick to the facts as you see them.
Someone just posted a negative review, and I think they're stupid. Can I say so?
OPINIONS are always welcome - we are all entitled to them. Let us know WHY you disagree with what someone has said, don't just say they suck. Please refrain from making personal comments/attacks directed at any band members or board members - stick to the facts as you see them. Agree to disagree, and all that.
I am new to this music. How do I find information on albums, tours, etc.?
Please visit the entire site at www.onewhiskey.com. A lot of people have worked hard and contributed to compiling basic discography and tour information. There are many articles on the website from the last 10 years or more, that contain some of the answers you're looking for. If you need more information, or can't find something, please do post to the forum. There are a lot of helpful folks out there. I just get cranky when no one bothers to look at the website first.
Where can I find tablature so I can play the songs?
There is currently no website with this information. The fine screamingtrees.org, which used to host tabs, is no longer with us. There are some on the forum who may have what you need, so feel free to ask - just be aware that this DOES come up a lot, so scroll through the topics first and see what's gone before. If you'd like to start a website to host tabs, I'd be glad to link to you.
Can onewhiskey.com host my show bootleg, other large downloadable file?
No. Check through previous forum topics to find others who might be able to.
I have a long, drawn out private conversation to have with someone on this forum. Shall I post it?
The forum is equipped with a Private Message feature - use it! If what you have to say may be of interest or is entertaining to others, go ahead and post, but try to keep topic-related posts free of clutter. They are easier to read for people in a hurry.
What do we know about Mark Lanegan personally? Does he have a girlfriend? What is his shoe size? Etc.
Personal information has no place on a forum about music. Will the answers affect how well you like the songs? I think not.
I have a 'zine, radio show, etc. How can I get in touch with Mark Lanegan to arrange an interview?
I do not know. Your best bet is to go through official channels. His record label is Beggars Banquet - www.beggars.com
Have fun now.
