Yeah. I see it as a similar thing as our bodies/brains releasing adrenaline or other such chemicals when we're threatened. To say it's like a scream requires a bit of poetic license... but still...

omg!!!! vegans everywhere are crying in their green beers, somewhere baby jesus is shedding a tear Yeah, to survive requires making something else suffer and die... No way out of it. Them's the breaks of life on planet Earth. We can modulate the degree of harm/death we cause, but that's about all we can do. Not possible to live a 'harmless' life.

Cedar, the Confidence
Of rare beauty (I'm currently sporting a beard that makes me look like the bloke from The Joy of Sex), knows how to adapt (if it rains, I wear a hat), likes luxury (other peoples'), of good health (balls) not in the least shy (more balls), tends to look down on others (it's more of a hobby than a trait), self-confident (horseballs), determined (Not especially), impatient (it's a fair cop), wants to impress others (like who?), many talents (only if fart-lighting is a talent), industrious (nope), healthy (not exactly..), optimism (Pff), waiting for the one true love (been & long gone), able to make quick decisions (I'll get back to you on that one).
I want a different tree.

Hazelnut Tree, The Extraordinary Charming, undermining, very understanding, knows how to make an impression, active fighter for social cause, popular, moody and capricious lover, honest and tolerant partner, precise sense of judgment
Sounds good to me!

Don't think much of mine... Fir Tree, the Mysterious Extraordinary taste, dignity, cultivated airs, loves anything beautiful, moody, stubborn, tends to egoism but cares for those close to it,rather modest, very ambitious, talented, industrious uncontent lover, many friends, many foes, very reliable. I'm a bloody snob apparently but hey. Here's Mr. Lanegan's...it's rather apt (Halo Of) Ash(es) Tree, the Ambition Uncommonly attractive, vivacious, impulsive, demanding, does not care for criticism, ambitious, intelligent, talented, likes to play with its fate, can be egoistic, very reliable and trustworthy, faithful and prudent lover, sometimes brains rule over heart, but takes partnership very serious. so now you know.

Here is my tree.
Lime Tree, the Doubt
Accepts what life dishes out in a composed way, hates fighting, stress and labour, tends to laziness and idleness, soft and relenting, makes sacrifices for friends, many talents but not tenacious enough to make them blossom, often wailing and complaining, very jealous, loyal

Cypress, the Faithfulness Strong, muscular (ahaha), adaptable (think so), takes what life has to give (got no choice, eh), happy, content, optimistic (oh fuck off), needs enough money and acknowledgment (who doesn't?), hates loneliness (nope), passionate lover which cannot be satisfied (ummm???), faithful (*cough*), quick-tempered (yep), unruly (yep), pedantic and careless (sometimes). Jeez.
