advice (if you want it, and you may not).... i think if you put that in a slightly higher key (maybe a capo on 3rd fret) you could nail it. it'd sound a bit different, but it'd work better for your voice. you've got nice tone, nice understanding of what you're doing.. and you can definitely hit notes. but you're stuck trying to plunge the Lanegan depths and it just doesnt sound like it's in your key...

haha, the band I was in opened for Sacred Reich in phoenix and the guys were having technical issues so i grabbed my acoustic and did a bluesy yet Pat Boonish version of that song....it got me covered in beer, spit and I believe I had a penny ricochet off my head as well.....but the first people to greet me when I got done were the guys from Sacred Reich with a towel and a beer laughing there asses off......we also squared things with a few in the parking lot after the gig was over i have a bootleg somewhere on cassette, its worth it just to hear the crowd hate me so !

Sweet man... Tho I think this is the final copy... I'd try again but I had the hardest time just getting my mind up that high... I actually had to think of the Spinanes while singing but Lanegan's voice kept creeping in my head... ;D

Well here goes. There are a few lyrical and musical flubs but it is a good enough start. I have a couple more in the works now and maybe I'll be able to get them worked up sometime this week. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Riz2hKp6GrQEnjoy!!!

Garage is one of the only peaceful places to do this when you have three young children (girls) unl;ess everyone is asleep. Maybe I need to get them in on the act. Thanks

Maybe I need to get them in on the act. Oh hell no! Y'all could do a fucked-up Partridge Family sort of take on one of Mark's songs. Which one would you choose?

That made me laugh. All of us driving around in a van singing Skeletal History or something nice like that does not give me a warm fuzzy. I think that Black Bell Ocean or anything off of I'll take care of you might work other than Little Sadie might work. You might be right that it is little too dark tinged maybe for the chittlens.

That might be one of the best things ever posted to this forum if you did it. "The LostCause Family sings Mark Lanegan in four-part harmony." It would be like those weird creepy bluegrass and country family things where a wholesome but haunted-looking family sings twisted songs about death, sin, and suffering. You'll just have to ponder over whether it's worth scarring your kids for life
