Personally, I am listening to the Evens whilst knocking together a rather apalling "comedy song" to the tune of the can-can all about eating animals.
Top that.

I am listening to the Sonics, drinking wine, trawling thru photos trying to decide what to paint next and having an involved text conversation with someone about a picnic and going on a steam train next weekend.
Next.......

Working the nightshift from hell. Came in at 10.45, was fighting with a patient at 11.05, had a deep conversation on the pros and cons of suicide with another patient from 11.30-00.15, had a nervewrecking discussion with a co-worker i do not get on with at all about safety issues at around 1.00, felt like a snifferdog at 1.30, kicked 4 patients into their own bed from 1.30-2.00, had a nasty phonecall from a nasty mum of a nasty patient at 2.15, had another deep conversation about the pros and cons of going outside during the night to try and find a train that is still running in order to jump in front of it at 3.00, sent another couple of patients to their own beds at 3.50, did a hell of a lot of paperwork from 4.00-5.45 and just came on to post my frustrations. Top that

I am having (almost enjoying) wine, I have to be at work in 6 hours and I have just realised that I have forgotten to have a shave this weekend. What I haven't realised yet is that wine and shaving at half eleven at night isn't a particularly sparkly idea. This may well be my last ever post.

Have a vicious sunburn on my back, which makes sitting hurt, have a wonky stomach from drinking too much Friday and Saturday nights, and was too tired to take an actual shower, so I ran a bath and sat in it until I felt like I'd accomplished something. Watered my plants and the neighbors', am now watching the cat twitch while she sleeps, am hoping she twitches herself off the sofa arm.

Watching my husband and a friend make a batch of beer. The house smells like a brewery. Which is a good thing, they make really good beer.
If you like a nice hoppy ale, that is.

Thinking of what I'm going to paint in the background of my "kitty on a flying rug" painting. Thinking of lunch too. Listening to Mr Bungle and discovering Mike Patton's actually quite adorable.

How many days now m? How many days until that poor long suffering woman is saddled with you for ever, that is ;D ;D ((((((MrsM-to-be - we feel your pain)))))) Seriously tho, don't let the stress get to you. The time comes when you just have to say enough is enough and if it doesn't all go completely right on the day then what the hell - you'll still be married and and (hopefully) no one will die. Have a blast Even if you do stink of vicks vapour rub ;D

This is a good good good thing, Mike is the greatest of the greatest, and I love him. You can listen to Mr Bungle, but fantomas, faith no more, Peeping Tom, Tomahawk and Crudo ;D too... and wondering what is the best band for Mike Can you feel his voice ? ? He is wonderfully wonderful ;D Nothing to say more

wedding prep. and breathing in vaporub stuff until it makes my eyes water... What sort of wedding involves vaporub? At this point, I was going to do an excruciatingly contrived gag about it being a Me ntho ldist do, but thankfully for all concerned, I thought better of it.

Have a blast Even if you do stink of vicks vapour rub ;D it's this thursday. Mrs M-to-be is poorly.. which is why i can smell the vicks... she's had her head over a bowl of hot water for several days.. and there is snotty used tissue everywhere because she is incapable of putting things in the bin. she's been hyper-stressed and moaning ever since she got ill. our weekend of last-minute shopping for wedding & honeymoon things was pretty stressful, even though she was wearing flat shoes... and then, yesterday, we got the weather forecast for thursday- heavy rain all day... which bothers me more than it bothers her, surprisingly. but... i really dont care. she will feel fine on the day, im sure. as for the weather, well.. if that one little factor was that important to us, there'd obviously be absolutely no point in us doing this anyway.
