Soundgarden were my all time fave for quite some time, but things fell apart for poor old mr cornell. He showed such promise with acoustic songs like Seasons, Like Suicide, Sunshower...I figured he might end up a little more like Mark Lanegan.
It seems kind of foolish for him to have joined rage against the machine, but whatever pays the bills i guess. I bought both audioslave albums hoping for something good.
Wellwater Conspiracy. Now there's a great band.

I think everyone here almost likes these bands. I'd just want to warn you about Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd... There's apparently a disagreement going on here about them... *whistles* ;D

A good list of bands, indeed. Most or all of them make a regular rotation on my listening schedule...
...toss in some Whigs, some Dulli, Peter Murphy, Gun Club, Janes, and a bunch of other random crap that I listen to, it makes for a complete day!

Thalia Zedek does an awesome cover of Dance Me To The End of Love, which is far superior to Cohen's origonal recording. He's pretty cheesy. I read some of his poetry when I was like 13....

Yeah, I listened to his music, and I don't care how deep it is, it's incredibly boring! I have read his poetry, which I think is better than his music by far, but I still didn't get it.
And Led Zepplin (I'll probably get torn apart for saying this) isn't that great either. Far better than Cohen, and I like some Zepplin songs, but they've become a fad and everyone around has a Zepplin shirt on...Give me a break...Maybe that just annoys me because I can't get shirts of my favourite artists? Could be!
I'll just stick with what I've got - Jazz, classical, lanegan, screaming trees, nirvana, tom waits, beck, opeth, qotsa, melvins, bush, leadbelly, masters of reality...etc.

Well, to tell the truth, if I rule out online purchasing, I can't get a QOTSA shirt. And Nirvana? Well, they're around, but in surprisingly small quantities. They're secondary bands in my listening if even that, so I'd rather get a lanegan or waits shirt first, which just isn't happening...It's not impossible though. But, I'd hate to have people see me and automatically go "ew" when they see me wearing nirvana, since that's how quickly people judge.

Yes that one. How does it compare to the other albums? After the scroll and its combinations I'm kind of iffy on buying this one. Brotherhood was well worth the hunt, but Scroll was kind of a letdown...
