They've possibly noticed that the Brighton - Sydney ferry takes a bit longer than 3 days.

I would LOVE a Northern England date (Lumb Lane Community Centre for preference, as it's at the end of my road and, as I used to work there on Monday nights, I still have a key for it somewhere), but I have seen them perform as the Gutter Twins 5 times that I can think of and a further acoustic show (and I would be staggered if they could top that night. Ever) so I would feel really shitty if they cancelled a whole continent to play up here again. I'd still go though. Looking for Australian ticket info to see if this is perhaps just a hiccup while someone spells Theatre properly, whilst Manchester United play FC Porto (in Chinese. Probably best if you don't ask about that bit) plays in a tiny window in the top corner. Back in a mo

That's why I said BEFORE going to Australia, i'm not that selfish, I don't want them to cancel Australia, just to push it foward a little bit so I can get my italian date. I know what it fells like to have a concert you really want to attend to cancelled or played at the wrong time so I don't wish it happend to anyone. Plus I got to work on that karma thing so I'm all about positive thoughs now

Can't find anything on any of the Aussie venue sites I'm afraid - although the Splendour in the Grass site doesn't seem to want to list any of the artists involved, which is a bit of a silly way to sell a festival...
If it's true that Mark is playing Reading/Leeds (and presumably other Euro festy dates) with Soulsavers*, it doesn't give a huge amount of time for rehearsals etc if the Australian dates are pushed back to fit in more EU stuff (lovely as that would be). Then again, if I remember rightly (this is where the non-deletion of their myspace blog would have come in handy), the last tour they did was done with 7 days' preparation featuring a band that had largely never played together before so anything could happen...
*And I hope it isn't true, as all weekend tickets for both venues and most day tickets (Reading is completely sold out, some remain for Leeds) have sold out before most acts have been confirmed.

wish they would hook up w/ "instant live' or similiar outfit that records the shows & has them available for purchase online shortly thereafter.....another revenue stream for the guys & music for us fans on other continents that can't go the shows sadly.

It's the future.
Back on topic, I had plans for a possible "Onewhiskey Holiday" for the London/Brighton shows until I realised how astronomical (that's twice I've used that word this evening. How rare) hotel/apartment rates are in July in both locations. So sod that, but I have other plans for other things, all of which will be revealed in the fullness of time. Unless I forget.

I got the confirmed dates just this morning, for Isobel and Greg, and so far the Aussie dates are still there. I asked to be updated if they get removed...meanwhile, the Bumbershoot date with Isobel IS NOT currently on the planned list of shows.

I suspect the Australian dates have been removed from the myspace site as the festival they're coming out for - Spendour in the Grass - hasn't made it's official lineup announcement yet.

What is the sense of this minitour around the world?
a) Earn money to finish their relatives albums. b) Travel around the world to meet with futures collaborations... c) Record live Stuff to possible DVDlive from Gutter Twins in the future d) Only for fun.

I hope The Specials is one of the three that you're familiar with. I can only count six that I've heard and I listen to hours of XMU every week, so I guess Australia sucks.

Got my London ticket in the post a couple of days ago. Looks like they're not coming to Brighton after all. Oh well, just Copenhagen and London for me then. Btw, I'm so happy for people in South America and Australia, they are so excited. Can't help but smile a bit...

Thats only the first line up - it will sell out on the first day! You can go and check out the bio's on all the bands - there's quite a mixture of genres plus a lot of great Aussie bands on. VERY MUCH looking forward to this gig as I have seen Mark solo and the Twilight singers here and Mark and Isobel in Manchester. BTW Australia does not suck - everyone loves coming to play for us. I will have to fly 2hrs to Melbourne to see them play cos due to some stupid promoter bullshit (I think) a lot of the bands dont play sideshows here in Brisbane which is only two hours drive north from Byron. Roll on solo album!!

I don't want them to cancel Australia, just to push it foward a little bit so I can get my italian date. This Agony Aunt says don't date that italian - he's obviously too fussy to be bothered with - tell me where he lives and I'll get my cujina to rip his bloody arms off!
