I've never understood the hype over the Habs. Yes, they have the most cup wins, but they got most of those back in the days when the Leafs were their only worthy opponents (and let's not get me started on them). And all the hysteria here over the Canucks is enough to make me ill. Hamilton should've gotten the Coyotes. Bastards.

Pens. I knew without Crosby it was bleak, but I was hoping for just one more series.

KIDS DON'T FUCKING BELONG AT THE BASEBALL PARK
Apparently the scene was inappropriate in front of the fan's kids, so they brought in two kids to sit in on the press conference:

What is up with this pop-up strike zone box on ESPN? Has it been there all year? There are so many damn graphics now.

silly canadians VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) Parked cars were set on fire, others were tipped over and people threw beer bottles at giant television screens following the Vancouver Canucks' 4-0 loss to the Boston Bruins on Wednesday night in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals. Fans gone wild Some people just can't enjoy a game without getting involved. Here are a few unruly spectators.People chanted obscenities and some leaped over raging bonfires as riot police moved in to try to restore order in the downtown streets strewn with garbage and filled with acrid smoke. Flames shot about 10 yards into the air off the cars and some bystanders tossed firecrackers. The chaos was reminiscent of a similar scene that erupted in the city in 1994 following the Canucks' Game 7 loss to the New York Rangers. Patrick Fleming, 15, said a small group took out its anger on cars in the game's dying moments, flipping over two vehicles and setting one on fire. Two other overturned vehicles were visible nearby as orange flames erupted from an exploding car, prompting several bystanders to duck down in alarm. Fans who were trying simply to get out of the danger zone found their visibility reduced by the thick black smoke. Som Gosh, 16, said police blocked off the area and detained a number of people. ''I think it was a few people. ... Everybody else is watching,'' Gosh said. Some members of the crowd could be seen trying to hold back others. Others posed for pictures, while most wanted no part of the violence and headed in the opposite direction. A long line of police tried to hold back the surging crowd from the blazing cars. A hail of beer bottles rained down on giant outdoor television screens as soon as the final buzzer sounded.

A hail of beer bottles rained down on giant outdoor television screens as soon as the final buzzer sounded. It was awful. 90% of the people there were highschoolers. Boston won it by a mile even if the one questionable goal had been omitted. Having seen the parties downtown when they won game 5, it's probably better they didn't win the series.

It's always sad to see people acting like that, but it was encouraging last night before I went to bed to see people on FB and Twitter, mostly in their early 20s, rounding up volunteers to go down in the morning and help clean up.

"The riots in Vancouver had very little to do with winning or losing the Stanley Cup and far more to do with the size of the anarchist community in Vancouver"
It amazes me how many people are thick enough to believe such nonsense. It was primarily kids. 15-16 year olds with no regard for themselves or others.
