not to steal the person who found the first few songs' thunder, but this should be its own thread at this pint.
you can see the whole tracklist (presumably) when you open a sample song and click playlist.

Big White Cloud was a John Cale cover that leaked a few years ago, I think it was an outtake from the ITCOY sessions. A version of Following the Rain came out on a WFTHG demos compilation a while ago too. Does anyone know if Mark picked these songs? I remember him talking about this but don't remember exactly what he said. Also, it doesn't look like the songs mentioned in this thread are included: onewhiskey.proboards.com/thread/4342/unreleased-lanegan-2009-movie-countyThanks for sharing the news!!!

i called those new songs since this would be their first official release. Not knowing what the new songs sound like, I also just now realized this compilation really focuses on the more quiet stuff.

Wow, didn't expect that many "new" songs. 10 including the live version of Blues Run the Game is pretty much a new album.

Wow this looks great, really can't wait for it! I love Big White Cloud and Blues Run the Game, would be nice to have them on an album. Does anyone know if Mark picked these songs? I remember him talking about this but don't remember exactly what he said. He said others were sorting songs out, he had the final say. Something along those lines.

Not to steal EITHER original poster's thunder, but time for a very anal retentive UPDATE
I noticed most of the songs had a number before them, other than the first 8 or so you could see on the original sidebar, so I've put the anthology in order, more or less (the Whiskey tracks at the end of disc one and the 2 songs on disc two could be either way) It's interesting that the first disc is almost in reverse chronological order, and the second has the vocal version of Blues for D and it seems like an alternate Grey Goes Black (why else put it on there with all "new" songs?) I'd bet at least some of these songs are the ones from cook county and maybe given new titles but if they've gone unheard I'm all for that too... suprised Untitled Lullabye isn't on here though

Have I missed the date of this release? Is it after 'Imitations'? It'll be towards the end of LITA's current subscription, so either the end of this year or early next. The subscription 3 x LP version will be on coloured vinyl, any leftovers of these usually are made available to preorders. Might also be worth noting that there's a bit of a caveat on their site that might apply here due to the different labels involved...

Exciting news, cheers. Worth waiting for, though I can think of a few more rarities which would be nice to make the list (e.g. Slide Machine, Café, She's Not For You etc).
Generally: thumbs and other appendages all the way up.

Maybe I missed it before, but looks like there's two other songs listed for Lanegan on LITA's site: Almost Persuaded - Handpicked by Mark Lanegan (The Louvin Brothers, Satan is Real/Handpicked songs, 1955-1962); and Almost Persuaded - Handpicked by Mark Lanegan (The Louvin Brothers, Handpicked songs, 1955-1962)
As I recall Same Old Man was the "most recent" song they had listed when I viewed the list about a month ago...
