Got my box from the customs today after paying a small additional amount of Euro ;-( Now I have a problem: I ordered black and yellow copy and they look all the same to me. Same sticker on the cover and same number etc. Can anybody give me an advice on how to open the black vinyl box? I want to add the yellow one to my collection sealed if possible. I would be very thankful for any hint on how to recognize the yellow (or black) vinyl Try Mr. Whiskers The Psychic Kitty, toll free 1-800-WHISKERS, 24 hours a day.

can anyone confirm if "Sympathy" has Natasha Schneider's first posthumous appearance? It isn't. Alain Johannes released a 3 song ep a few years ago of leftover Eleven songs and the family released her song 'Here With You' shortly after she passed to anyone who donated toward medical costs. Though I'm not 100% positive that 'Here With You' wasn't released at some point before the family shared it.

Grumpella, thanks for your very helpful advice! Mr. Kitters solved my problem but he told me to never tell anyone how to recognize the vinyl colour of a sealed box

Me also. I have a sealed Yellow one, and would like to know if indeed it is yellow before handing it over otherwise I'll get shouted at

I was just kidding (or for Grumpella: Kitting). Here is what Morgan from LitA told me - she packed the boxes: "Hey there, Glad to hear they arrived! Unfortunately there is no way of knowing until they are opened what color they are. They are all packaged the same. Morgan" Sorry guys - we have to believe she packed exactly what we ordered

I love the stuff eleven did with Chris Cornell, and avantgardedog was a great album! And of course, the stuff Alain has done with Mark is also incredible!

Me again, sorry to still be banging on about my warped copy... but its bothering me!
So I contacted the store and they had one copy left which they opened up to inspect, and they reported back that disc 2 is a 'tiny bit warped'. Also, they cant seem to get any more copies any time soon.
So I don't know what to do really. I want to give my local store the sale, but at the same time its costing me £10 in petrol/parking every time I go there. I'm toying with the idea of just getting my money back and ordering online somewhere.

I guess this is the downside to a record that's really widely-available over here, but not handled by a UK label/distributor (which is also why the pricing is madly different from store to store).
As an idea, and I've really put no thought into this - take a photo/vine of the affected disc and email it to LITA (orders@lightintheattic.net), explaining where you got it from, that the store's only other copy isn't in great shape either and if they'd be able to do something for that one disc - their policy really only extends to orders from their own site (which isn't unfair, so don't be mad if they say no!), but they're all really nice people there and they might be able to do something a bit cheaper than another set of car-parking fees...

Thanks for that. The thought had crossed my mind to email LITA.
I have already taken a photo that I sent to the store, so I'll send it over to LITA and see what they say. No harm in asking!

*sigh*
After sending a photo of the warped disc to my store, they say that their other copy has the same amount of warping and that if it plays perfectly then 'job done', and probably the whole batch of disc 2 are affected.
Am I being unreasonable in wanting a record that is not warped?
Have emailed LITA anyway, see what they come back with.

You are not being unreasonable at all. It wasn't a gift, in fact it's an expensive set. I'd be pissed too.

Every time I listen to Field Songs now when Blues For D comes on I find it weird there's no vocals. I'm expecting them and then I realize it's this version.

After receiving the 2 CD set from Amazon with disc 2 missing, I finally received my replacement today. When I originally saw the track list for this set, I said 2 things to myself:
1- I don't like the songs selected for disc 1 and I don't like the sequence.
2- If it wasn't for disc 2, I would skip buying this and just make the playlist on my iPod and it would be the same thing.
Wrong on both points. Almost at the end of disc 1 now. Not only is this a great selection of songs that flow nicely together, but it sounds awesome. I heard of few things here and there that I never hear before in terms of instrumentation and it just sounds crisp. I suppose we have the guy who mastered it to thank, but I don't see his name anywhere in the credits.
Looking forward to disc 2.

To Valencia Courthouse has climbed up to one of my all time fav Lanegan solo tracks. A stunning song IMO.

It may be my favorite of the new songs, too. I'm surprised by how much I like A Song While Waiting and I wish like hell that No Contestar was a longer song, but To Valencia Courthouse does seem to be getting the most play from me.

Yeah once I listened to A Song While Waiting on better speakers I appreciated it more (vocals are a bit buried in the mix, but that kind of adds to the song's delicate vibe).

I wonder from what sessions are To Valencia Courthouse, Leaving New River Blues and Dream Lullabe. Can't get tired of them.

Looking at the dates given in the liner notes, I'd say that To Valencia Courthouse was a Field Songs outtake; Leaving New River Blues (which was recorded in a hotel room on the Gold Coast here in Australia) was possibly done while on tour with QOTSA; and Sympathy was around the time Bubblegum came out.
