30 second snippets of the unreleased material all sound incredible. grey goes black, halcyon daze, leaving new river blues sound unreal. and awesome that grey goes black appears to be completely unrelated to the BF song. cannot wait for these to arrive.

What's the deal with Gray Goes Black? Is it just a alternate version or something that was recorded at a different time?

Does anyone have an interpretation for the meaning of the title? "Has god seen my shadow, and kept us apart?" I think he likes being cryptic and it was the most cryptic title they could come up with.
Also, didn't the sound system go down during that performance of Blues Run the Game? I wonder if they will leave that in.

Maybe I got my own interpretation, and that will do for me. I like it being a cryptic line from a song.
Yes I got that version of Blues Run the Game too, because of it's unexpected course, yeah ok because it goes wrong that I love it. I love the song too no doubt about it. I wonder if it's the same version...

The clip of Following the Rain sounds as if Mark / they just used the version currently circulating from the demos with no sonic upgrade like had been done for all the others: Wheels, Day and Night etc Otherwise all clips esp Blues for D and Grey Goes Black sound great yep and also blues run the game from the unofficial lola's boot! weird... I remember a while back raeni had been looking for the taper of the Lola's Lounge show....maybe that had something to do with the inclusion of Blue Run The Game on this compilation?

I swear, sometimes this part - the trying to figure out what it is, what it means, where it comes from - is the funnest part to watch on here!

Just for shits and giggles (I guess mostly shits, really), I played around on the USPS web site, looking at postage, which IS pretty fucking outrageous to overseas. Figuring 3 180 gram records, fancy record packaging and good, sturdy shipping packaging, and maybe rounding up a bit, what I got was first class mail to Great Britain costing about $24 and priority almost $46. To Canada, first class is $16 and priority is a little over $30. From what you guys and gals are posting, they aren't tacking on very much for the "& handling" part of "shipping & handling," and they aren't looking for cheaper options - but then, they are a low-volume, boutique label. Could be they don't have sales enough to get much of a rate decrease from the shipping companies, I don't know how that works. I'd complain more about the shoddily-run USPS and their ridiculous out-of-the-US rates than I would about LITA. (As for the USPS, I'll wager it was much easier to get raising international rates approved than it is to get raising local rates approved, they have to make up for losing so much money every year somehow, and it's foreign customers of US-based businesses who get to feel the brunt of that.) I just noticed on the LITA page for the anthology, they give the weight of the vinyl box set (4.13 pounds, actually rather than more than the three pounds I was guessing), and provide the approximate shipping to parts foreign. I could very well have looked past it before, or maybe they've added it since it opened up for pre-order. (Oh ,my gosh are they READING US?!?!?) snicker snicker

I just can't believe that they still have the yellow vinyl available. Heck, if I was allowed, I'd buy a 2nd copy. Again, I'm positive that LITA hasn't even sent one email that it's available, it's not on their front page, no twitter, etc.... but a few online sources have announced it, which is how I found out.
My take on it that LITA really wants the yellow vinyl to go to F'n nerds like us so that the 150 end up in the hands of fans, not Ebay flippers....which is what would have happened if they made an announcement!
Does anyone agree with me on this? Can anyone confirm that "members" even received an email that is was available? because I didn't...and I'm a "member".

Hey all, Just placed my Vinyl pre-order and unlike the listed price to Malta (Europe) $50, I was only charged $36, so I'm guessing it's a fair deal. Worked out per Vinyl, I think I've paid far more money even recently for other releases. Just saying. Looking forward to it as you all are anyway.

It looks like they now offer cheaper worldwide First Class and Priority Mail options. Well done to them for doing the reasonable thing. It's fantastic they are even putting this out - I'm really looking forward to it - but it was a small shame the thread understandably features heavy discussion on shipping, rather than the release itself. I was still willing to pay the international price listed - although now I'm hoping they can ship mine First Class instead!

Prices themselves are great ($30 for a 3LP and $15 for a 2CD) so I think I will buy one of each. First Class Mail is $27.45, so order total is $72.45 which is actually pretty good for 3 records and 2 cds....glad the cheaper shipping option is available now, but the only way I could justify such a high shipping cost is by purchasing both record and cd sets!

Well it's nice that there are cheaper shipping options available, but a shame for the people that already ordered and paid $58 for priority international shipping...

Indeed, that's why I said I was hoping they could ship mine First Class now. Which, happily, they can. I just sent them an email explaining the situation & if they could please ship mine First Class and refund me the difference on the price already paid for Priority. I can only assume they'll do the same for others if requested, they seem a really decent outfit.

I think you might be right...and I think spentbullets remembered who it was! Mike's guitar/sound messing up during that song turned out to be such a fun thing - that show is a classic. I loved sitting on the floor all night for that one!

Now finally I received my weak point... Usually I "just" wanted to pre-order the CD version. But instead I couldn´t resist and ordered the Vinyl set as well. Altogether I had to pay about 80$. The shipping cost is nearly 40$, quite a price. But I want to own both versions. Happy that the release date gets closer.

I can think of worse things but that would REALLY bring this thread into the gutter (and lower), plus possibly win me gross-out of the year. And on another sucky note, I got an email today from Light in the Attic about their 2014 subscription, and I think it answers my question as to whether or not the Lanegan anthology, being released January 2014, is part of the 2013 sub or the 2014. I feel sorry for the people who got the 2013 sub hoping to get that red vinyl cuz it looks like it is, indeed, part of the 2014 sub.

Not true...I checked with LITA and they confirmed that it's part of the 2013 subscription, the 2nd half of 2013 that is. Definately not the 2014 subscription that just posted...LITA actaully said that they are trying to ship the members their copies around Dec 15th. I guess it's just their classy way of taking care of their members....Merry Fn Xmas for sure!

God, this is so confusing. They may be nice accommodating people when you contact them, but honestly they couldn't have done a worse job with the promotion & communication to their subscribers about this release.
