For those who haven't gotten this yet, want to, and haven't seen this yet, Sub Pop has a 20$ off all orders over $30 sale going on through Jan.3. the boxset was specified to not be part of this sale Now that's just poopy of them. It was noted at the SMooCH benefit they donated ten grand to Seattle Children's Hospital, must be where that $ is coming from.

Not thrilled with the obvious digital sourcing sound quality but I shouldn't have expected anything better. On the other hand, the pressings and original artwork are well done...so there's that.

Well, got my set today from Amazon. Did anybody notice that Field Songs Side A is pressed off center? I'm guessing not a bad hole drill but misaligned stampers. So, as the needle rocks back and forth, noticeable warble is audible especially as the stylus gets toward the center tracks. Also, this is the first time I've seen matrix numbers in the dead wax AND lead in. Strange. I sent for a replacement but fear the whole run will be misaligned.

Got mine yesterday. The wrong years of the last two albums on the main box' back cover pisses me off

I got mine yesterday also and I also noticed the wrong years right off the bat after I opened the package. Other than that I think they did a great job with the packaging of this.
Between this and the Swans boxset I got the other day, I have lots of new vinyl to listen to but not enough time...

If anyone is looking to buy the Mark Lanegan solo records individually and not fork out the cash for the entire boxset..or just fill the gap in their vinyl collection, it would appear that Sonic Boom Records in Seattle has taken apart a few of the boxsets and are selling individual copies of each record. You can check them out and order online on Discogs at: www.discogs.com/seller/sonic_boom_records/profileOr on their website at: www.sonicboomrecords.com/You are welcome!

Not thrilled with the obvious digital sourcing sound quality but I shouldn't have expected anything better. On the other hand, the pressings and original artwork are well done...so there's that. which of the albums, or is it all ? Winding Sheet was listenable. Whiskey, gave up after the first 3 tracks. Scraps, gave up after the first track. ITCOU and Field Songs remain sealed... I never sell records but this time might have to make an exception. Actually, I would prefer to just give it away but unfortunately, I don't personally know anyone who listens to Lanegan (or any other good music for that matter.)

Did you have an original Whiskey or others to compare them to? If not could it be your system?

So it seems people are hit or miss with the sound of the remaster. I want to buy this set, but aside from the vinyls I'd also like to have the digital versions so I can play them in the car, on my phone, etc. How do the digitals sounds? Is there a noticeable (or better) difference from the originals?

If you have the CDs, you won't need the digital versions as they're identical.

Did you have an original Whiskey or others to compare them to? If not could it be your system? It's definitely not my system I humbly stand corrected...it WAS my system. Unbeknownst to me, one of my power amps had developed an impedance issue; took forever to get it repaired but everything is now up to speed...the records sound very good; natural and correct. Field Songs is extra outstanding...never heard it like that, almost a spiritual experience.
