Has anyone heard the new Dinosaur Jr album yet? It's all I've had on the last couple of days, and I feel that it's the best album they have released since reforming. What does everyone else think about it?

I find all of their albums to sound generally the same, but that's not to say I don't enjoy them. I know what to expect for each album and have always enjoyed mascis' guitar work. I may go see them in DC in a few weeks...

I was a big fan back then. Since reforming, I haven't liked any of their stuff, but the J Mascis solo albums are great. I wasn't gonna bother with this at all, but if I see more positive opinions like yours, I might reconsider.

The biggest difference you'll hear on this album is the fact that you can actually hear Lou's bass on it, in all it's rumbling glory. I'd say that the back half of the album is actually quite mellow.
