What a show. The band sounded absolutely incredible and the new songs sounded so great live. Nine of the twenty songs I had never seen performed before so that was a treat. Jeff seemed to really be rocking the fuck out this tour compared to the last few times I've seem him.
Oh, and Head is such a rocker live!

Yes. Lyenn and Duke played an opening set each, and then played in the band.

I always liked that extra layer he brought, when he played Manchester(DGarwoodhaterswilldisagree)and more evident at Glastonbury. It will be a change though with support in Nov\Dec tour, getting away from an ambient atmospheric assistance, to a(hopefully) more thunderous beginning of an evening. Hope to see DG play more in MLB.

I thought this was the best his band has sounded. Duke mentioned something about finally getting a visa so hopefully he's around on future MLB tours over here in the states.

Yeah I have to agree with you there, when I was writing the last post I was thinking the same thing. Don't know whether they're just nice and settled (in) as a proper solid band, if her know what I mean. New album was a slow burner for me this time, dunno why, but stuck it on in the car the day after the gig and now sounded unbelievable. That's only ever happened a couple o times, as I'm not the kind of person who gets influenced in that way.

I've seen the acoustic set up (Mark with one other person on guitar) a number of times, which I appreciate, but was nice to hear a full rock n roll band at this go. Sounded a bit garage-y, in a good way. Some parts added to the songs that weren't on the albums or just done in a bit different way ...
Is there any particular reason for the Joy Division Love Will Tear Us Apart cover, added to his repertoire? Anyone know? Great song

It was a tribute for the victims of the M\chester Arena bombing.

I also thought this lineup was my favorite so far. A lot of people talked through Duke's opening set. I admit I wasn't feeling terribly captivated myself, though I own and like his Heavy Love album. Though I found my attention drifting during his solo set, I really enjoyed his contribution to the band sound. He really added something there. Just curious: does anybody know the reason (something legal?)for their not playing at least one song off Black Pudding?
Loved Lyenn's set. First time I heard him play his own material.
