We arrived about 8pm and initial observations of the venue were impressive, Mr Garwood came on not long after. We spent the next hour or so, with his choons wafting through my ears, drinking (of course) chatting to people and visiting the merch stand, nothing new to tell you about and only 3 CDs for sale (the 2 latest and Reykjavik which I bought). We got up to find our position as the lights darkened, the band came on and launched into Gravediggers song and that's were it started to go downhill. I don't think the venue is suitable for live music because it's a large cavernous building(like an airport hanger) so the acoustics were echoing\bouncing off all over the place. The sound.. it sounded like they were performing in a cardboard box, it was flat, the levels were all wrong no EQ,which is a shame because the performance seemed ok. The audience..now me and Mrs J like to enjoy ourselves, sing along, a bit of a dance maybe. Emperor came on and apart from us I couldn't see any fucker moving (Manchester June it was absolutely bouncing)what is the fucking point of coming!!! Yeah it was a shit night, the sound I could live with but them boring fuckers...
