Hmm, so since Gorkom is a violin player, can we expect more old school Lanegan?

Well Gorkom did write the music for The Killing Season from Phantom Radio and did record all the instruments for it - so I guess Gorkom can play a lot of instruments.

I'm guessing it will be a collaboration and not a proper solo album from Mark. Either way, I'm excited. Whether it's old school or not doesn't really trouble me. If anything, I'd like it if he started to experiment with new sounds (not necessarily electronica-influenced, we've had plenty of that, after all) Can't seem to find anything else about this online but I will post more if something more surfaces.

A collaboration or a proper solo album? The exact words of M.L. in the interview are: "I've just finished to release an album with my friend Sietse Van Garkom, which will be out in spring". I hope we'll know more about this album soon!

Hard to say but the way he talks about it, it sounds like a proper solo album to me.

nothing comes up on a google news search, aside from a concert review of Eddie V solo where Ed says Mark is "one of the, no the greatest singer from the NW, what a voice". Went to Sieste's twitter only thing he's working on is stuff for Lady Dandelion who released a single in March no ML. So maybe Mark sings something for them on a upcoming release who knows

I would suggest that this collaboration and the second album with Duke Garwood are not two different projects but the same one. And we might expect it in August.
