First of all. My English isn't great.
Great show with some nice surprises in the setlist.
Aldo Struyff was on stage. His presence gave the songs something extra.
Set:
1. Sideways In Reverse
2. When Your Number Isn't Up
3. Hit The City
4. Wedding Dress
I think it's great he opens with Sideways, because it's always good to start a show with a straight rocksong.
And than there's the 3-song-start of Bubblegum, which imho is the best start of a Lanegan album.
Then they went on with the close second best set-of-opening-songs-from-a-Lanegan-album. That's Field Songs(together with WFTHG.)
5. One Way Street
6. No Easy Action
7. Miracle
After this I can't exactly remember what's the right running order, but I do know that they played this set of songs.
8. Message To Mine (how could I forget this one, OOHH SO GOOD BABY- you make me forget)
9. Like Little Willie John
10. Can't Come Down The first time I heard this song live. It was good.
11. Resurrection Song
12. Come To Me
13. On Jesus' Program One of the highlights for me. The screams on this one came from far away.
14. Driving Death Valley Blues (thanx I forgot)
15. I'll Take Care Of You
Then they played my favourite song of the Bubblegum era and they played it great. I remember the first time I heard it. That was in Brussel for the HCTWC-tour and it really blew my mind. And yesterday they did it again.
16. Skeletal History
17. Metamphetamine Blues
Here comes the first big surprise.
They opened the encore with:
18. Blues For D
Beautifull. Especially Brett. Only the crowd were all talking and didn't pay any attention to this beautiful song. So that's why Mark came on stage before the song was finished and they went on with
19. Sleep With Me
20. Fix
They ended Fix with a long instrumental passage. And I think the band waited for Mark to come back. But he didn't.
So the second big surprise never came. Before the concert started I saw the setlist. Between Sleep With Me and Fix there was one more song.
It said Gospel Plow. So I was very delighted to hear a Screaming Trees song. But after Sleep With Me Brett did play the first notes, but then Michael launched the band into Fix. What a shame.
After all it was a great show.
