Not mine, but for all you photo enthusiasts, Vancouver is slowly scanning its archives. Some cool panoramas with some of the negatives measuring 8' long (apparently). Cool glimpse into the old life out west www.flickr.com/photos/vancouver-archives/

Thanks A couple others and I set up a low-fi studio on campus to play around with. It was my first time using remote lighting. I have a roll of colour from the occasion that I need to take to get developed, so there are a few more of her to come.....now if only I knew her name....

nice job overall, I am no expert as I dont shoot people but the lighting is superb, the pose is perfect, angle is just right! The only thing that bugs me is the white spots that pop up, I am not sure if thats noise or just specks of dust on your lense, dunno if that came during development

I DO need to clean my lenses (no one's done so in at least 15 years), but it's more likely to be from dust in the film housing (I was testing one that hadn't been used since the death of 220 film, if ever). Looking at the negatives it's pretty clear that it wasn't from the shot and was actually dust deposited on the film at some point (you can tell by the way the film 'burns' around it). Unfortunate, but until I have $1000+ to get my body/lenses/magazines professionally cleaned, I'm out of luck. I still plan to go in there with a cotton swab and do what I can, but to be honest, I'm not too worried. I love film and all its imperfections. My newest camera is from 1978, sometimes I just have to deal with it. If you've ever heard the shutter on a 500 series Hasselblad you'll know why I'm so attached to it. I tried to buy a digital sensor for the damn thing, but the only one I could ever possibly afford (still $1800) has to be tethered to a computer and can only take one shot at a time, which requires to you go and process the photo in between before you can carry on. It was my first time ever really shooting people and it was lots of fun. If you ever get the chance and access to remote lighting, totally give it a try. It's amazing the effects you get just by moving the flash around the subject.

Yeah the dust does look burned in and its white which you don't see very often, I have not had the guys to clean my sensor and lenses yet, technically its spot on!

If you've ever heard the shutter on a 500 series Hasselblad you'll know why I'm so attached to it. Totally understand. My ex-husband is photographer and has a Hasselblad - a very beautiful thing (the camera, NOT the ex!).

Agreed. It doesn't look like your typical DOF trickery. Very nice.
