I look at other bands tour dates but I don't think anyone tours as hard as Mark Lanegan Band. It's some schedule. It must be all go. Hard working people.

Welllll.... yes, they've been touring heavily but I think that it's about to come to a close. The real question is do they go the extra mile and come back to Seattle and play their missed gig, plus all the east coast shows they had to cancel?

Unfortunately the [Seattle] show is not going to be rescheduled now. You can receive a refund at the point of purchase.

That's some bullshit. I wonder if that goes for the East coast shows as well.

Mark Lanegan practically is Seattle. He has to play this show! I've waited so very long to hear him sing live. When would my next chance come? Next year *if* he records another album and *if* he tours? Please tell me that was not my last chance to hear him sing. Edit: After re-reading what I wrote, I sound like a selfish brat. I know that if he could reschedule, he would. It's unfortunate though. I wish I could have seen him perform.

Hello,
I've seen Mark nearly everytime he's played in Seattle. I was extremely pissed when he cancelled the show. Not because it happened but because it wasn't announced until he was supposed to hit the stage. They wanted to make sure everybody spent money at the bar first. Hopefully he'll play here again at the end of the tour but I'm not holding my breath.

that's rough, why did you not get anything back?? I have no idea! I paid my tickets by Amex, so usually they would had refund me by the same way, easy! But no, when I called they didn't want to do that, they sounded like they didn't know how to do it. They asked me to mail them, and never heard about it since. I don't think Mark waited till the last minute to cancel to make $$ on us. He was probably hoping until the last minute to be able to play, but it didn't work that way! That's why the band was there ready for the show as much as we were. Anaway, that's what I like to think...

Nope,
It wasn't Mark'd doing it was the Showbox staff. My buddy saw Mark the night before at another show in Seattle and said he looked fine. He probably got ahold of an old friend while in town and it made him sick. They could have saved the hassle of getting out of there by announcing it sooner. I have friends that had to wait over an hour in line to get out.
Screw that!

Wouldn't have made any difference if he'd been fine or not teh previous day. Food poisoning hits between 1 to 6 hours after eating the contaminated foodstuff so it could even have been something he ate at the venue. If the intention all along was to not bother playing, they wouldn't have gone to the extent of setting everything up and soundchecking. From tales I've read over the years (and as recently as this year's Reading festival hi-jinks), Mark Lanegan isn't the sort of person to back out of a gig or cut a set short at the last minute just to make a venue bar manger happy. If the guy said he had food poisoning, then it's possibly because he had food poisoning...

Your theory doesn't make sense AT ALL. Plus, I think that the Showbox' people did the best they could and they did refund everybody that bought their tickets with them. Your friend waiting 1 hour is not to bad, at least he got a refund !!!

The refund procedure for Tickets West is to mail them in. Often when a company is crediting back your card through a mail-in deal like this, it won't post until the next billing cycle - ie. if you got your credit card bill already and the credit wasn't on there, it's probably too early. It should be there on the next bill.
My friend had to do this once with Tickets West, and she said they actually refunded ALL her money, including any service charges, which other ticket sellers don't do. I'm hoping to see my credit on the next statement, too.

Your friend waiting 1 hour is not to bad, at least he got a refund !!! Okay, Say what you will but the Showbox staff did not do a good job in announcing the situation. I was there and the announcer gave very little information about the "sickness". They were incompetent at best in refunding peoples money and it was a huge hassle. My guess is that Mark relapsed and was too F'd up to play. If it makes you feel better to think it was food poison so be it but I wasn't fooled.
