Reported on on the Mondogenerator.net messageboard by someone 'in the know' was that Nick Oliveri is playing 'second' guitar for Marks band, as well as doing his own set. Surely they mean 3rd guitar, unless someone has left?

Apparently Michael has quit because he has split up with Shelley.
I knew this bird-in-the-band shit was a bad idea.

What you think Michael is better looking than Nick......... Surely not ;D ...yes, I do fancy Nick as well but I fancy him in a way best not revealed in public, whereas with Michael, again, I fancy him in a way best not revealed in public either.....it's not really about looks......

i will admit....Mark asked me to play a few shows.....until i told him that i don't really know how to play guitar. wow...was he pissed at me. i told him i could play a little trumpet.....but he just told me to fuck off. looks like i'll have to give him a dozen red roses as an apology....he loves those.

i'm not too fussed, mark said after the tour he's gonna make a special trip to your house, drag you out into the street and kick the shit out of you.
all the neighbours have been notified, and will not respond to you screams and crys for mercy. you'll learn the hard way not to mess with the MAN.

can he at least play a fucking gig while he's in town kicking my ass? it'd be worth it then.

everything happens on the Italian 4days leg of this tour, so... I just saw the Rimini show, but some friends that saw Milan, Treviso and Rimini shows told me that at Milan date there's still Michael on guitar but the day after, at Treviso, there's Oliveri playing. they asked why this and someone told them Michael broke with the band because his girlfriend Shelley's falling in love with Lanegan... so Lanegan take Oliveri at the second guitar since Treviso date. Lanegan's lucky to have Oliveri near to substitute the other guitarist... and, yes, from these italian shows they started playing IVY and INVISIBLE LANTERN.

I feel bad for Michael. I mean, he lost his woman and his gig. Poor guy. I'd buy him a beer if I knew him. And if he lived here in Seattle. And if I knew that he drank beer.

....I know I was effortlessly flip earlier in the thread, if it's true, my commiserations to those involved but ultimately, it's none of our business.....

might be interested to know that that comment was made by a female... probably not. once the word 'offensive' comes into play, reflection tends to go out the window.
