'kay, as the dates are now imminent (even if some of the tickets aren't...), I thought it'd be a giggle if some of the UK types on the board fancied getting together & put names to faces etc at the gigs. For starters (as the last time I tried to do this in the summer it died on its arse but me, Katakuri and Oren still had a larf), if anyone who wants to meet up puts down whuich gigs they're going to be attending and then we can work from then if it's possible and where/how to meet up etc... I'll be at Manchester, Birmingham, London, Leeds & Sheffield

I'll be at Manchester, if you look on my website on the photos page that is the nearest to how I look now, more beard and longer hair though. If anyone wants to share a whiskey, but only cool people who don't shout at you and tell you how drrrrunk they are and how much Lanegan has changed their life. On second thoughts, I'm too snarley, better forget it.

Sadly, I will be 100% sober at the London gig, as I am driving back up to Manchester straight afterwards - same with Birmingham and one of the Leeds/Sheff dates as well. Fortunately, the Manchester one is on a Saturday and the day after my final payday, so I aim to be in full flow at that one. All I ask is that some kind soul will rotate me so that I'm facing the right direction when I leave the place, to avoid repetition of what happened last time

It may be better to publish pictures of oneselves so we can either tip our hats or avoid each other.

It'd take away most of the fun of meeting up if we all knew what we looked like... Besides, probably not everyone wants their pics splashed all over the internet for everyone to see

I don't really understand why people are so paranoid about putting their pictures on the internet. Don't you show your face everyday when you go outside? You DO all go outside everyday, don't you? ??

I'm not up to anything As for the photos, it's up to individuals if they want to show their faces here, but I don't want people to feel that they have to - it's one thing to say howdy in a club and then wander off if they feel like it, but it's something else entirely to park a picture on this (or any) site where it's there for all to see at all times... I know I've stuck various pictures of various bits of myself, but I don't think I've ever done it in a way that anyone could possibly recognise me in real life from them, and I honestly don't think that I'd really want to either. Meeting up for the first time can be a pretty daunting prospect, and there's going to be some who initially want to say hi but who will later decide not to, and it's not going to be easy to stay anonymous if everyone's already seen your pic. Finding out who's going where and then arranging privately when and where to meet up is probably the best (and safest) way for all concerned.

I don't wan't to be anonymous I want to be erm ymous. But I see your point, just no one offer me any Green. The last time I saw him play I spent most of the gig collapsed on the bar too dry to ask for water.

I don't really understand why people are so paranoid about putting their pictures on the internet. Don't you show your face everyday when you go outside? You DO all go outside everyday, don't you??? True, but on boards like this where there is the greater possibility of anonymity (for example, how many people here are using their real name as a username, let alone fill out all their profile details?), and anonymity is a much easier way for people to discuss things without any physical or intellectual stigma attached. Someone says something stupid or out of line on a messageboard, or wants to avoid unwarranted advances from other members (it happens) and wants to start afresh - they can, as it's just a simple case of registering under a different name. So if people don't want everyone else to know who they are, that's fine - as they're only doing what 90-odd percent of everyone else here is doing
