THE CULT's performance of the song "Wild Flower" on "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" Friday night (Feb. 24) on the CBS-TV network has been made available for viewing at YouTube.com. youtube.com/watch?v=guVWl7vey_w&search=cult%20craig%20fergusonThe "Ferguson" appearance marked THE CULT's first official live performance with veteran hard rock/metal drummer John Tempesta (EXODUS, TESTAMENT, HELMET, WHITE ZOMBIE, ROB ZOMBIE), who was recruited earlier in the month after two auditions. Tempesta will be joining THE CULT principals Ian Astbury (vocals) and Billy Duffy (guitar), along with Chris Wyse (who performed on "Beyond Good and Evil", and has worked with Ozzy Osbourne and Jerry Cantrell since), on the band's upcoming tour, tagged "A Return To Wild", which will cover 19 cities launching at the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco on March 1 and winding up at Nokia Live in New York City.

CORROSION OF CONFORMITY guitarist/vocalist Pepper Keenan, who also plays guitar in DOWN, told France's HeavyMusic.free.fr webzine on January 29, 2006 that the members of DOWN — Keenan, drummer Jimmy Bower (EYEHATEGOD, SUPERJOINT RITUAL guitarist), bassist Rex Brown (ex-PANTERA), guitarist Kirk Windstein (CROWBAR), and vocalist Philip Anselmo (SUPERJOINT RITUAL, ex-PANTERA) — have been in talks about regrouping to write and record the band's much-anticipated third full-length album. "We haven't done anything yet, but we're talking a lot about coming together again, all of us, and starting to work on stuff," Keenan is quoted as saying. "DOWN needs to come back and Phil is totally eager to sing again." Asked how Anselmo is doing after he underwent back surgery in late November, Pepper said, "He's doing very well. He has stopped taking painkillers and other fucking drugs. His eyes are clear and full of life again. You'd say he was 19 again. He's really ready to set it off. It's gonna be a great thing. We're gonna take it step by step and we'll see. We are planning to go to Europe and do a tour before even making the new album. We are planning to [go there], return to form and have some fun far away from the States. And after that we will start writing [the new album]."

A Bill Laswell discovery, Buckethead's an incredibly skilled avante-garde metal/funk guitarist who plays everything from rhythm scratches to Metallic power chords to intoxicating fast-run solos - often within the same tune. Though he's often confined to a sideman role, he's also a pleasantly unpredictable composer, building strikingly different sections into compelling songs, with a cheerful disregard of genre pigeonholes. At his best, he's Joe Satriani with brains. At his worst, though, he gets mired in lame-brained metal riffs that don't go anyway. Oh, you should probably know that he always wears a white mask and upside-down KFC bucket in public, and insists he was raised by chickens in a chicken coop.
Buckethead's a featured player on several of Laswell's Praxis releases - I've reviewed four of those, and listed the rest. He appears to be one of the Cornbugs, whoever they are. He's also done some soundtrack guest shots, and was part of Guns 'N Roses from 1999 to early 2004: I attempted to catch their abortive 2002 tour, and wrote about the experience on our concerts page, then finally caught his solo act. Otherwise, he's been playing with Colonel Claypool's Bucket Of Bernie Brains. Or with the Cornbugs, or the Deli Creeps, or the Laswell project-of-the-month. Read more at BucketheadLand. (DBW)

He definitely looks like Vai if he were wearing a mask and a KFC buckey on his head. Im very suspicious now.

not that I can remember. He's a freak of nature too so they'd work well together.
