I wouldn't be surprised if this set stayed pretty much the same right the way through the UK tour, given the short time Nick has had to learn the songs. Hopefully there'll be a couple of surprises along the way though... EDIT: and curses (in a nice way, of course) to Dwayne for getting my hopes up when he posted the other day that Mockingbirds got played

The Mail on Sunday? Lordy. They must have heard that the band were American and were trying to start a crusade to "get these foreigners out of our country etc"

here's a question – is that considered a short show??
i know you guys have crazy closing times over there, and to me that seemed like a short show – but might be normal for you considering you haven't said anything...

He's never played particularly huge sets, so this would be an average-length headline slot for him I guess. At just over an hour though (which includes encores), it's short in comparison to most shows I've seen from other headliners (90 mins being the average).

Monsieur Gumby, how many songs do you think there were in the Oz shows? the only review ive seen has a list of 20 songs, which is only a couple more than Brighton...

katakuri...
i remember Van saying something very similar when i saw the trees... we all laughed at the funny-looking and young-looking little ginger kid...
he was dubbed 'plastic face' by my friends.
many years later, he is seen as the multi-million selling saviour of rock... able to get dave grohl to play drums for him, pj harvey to sing and write with him, mark lanegan to sing and write with him... etc etc...
how things change.
but i'll never forget that first time i was introduced to the world of josh homme, on november 12th, 1996... ahhhhhhh, great days.

i know you'd never give up. i can see you now calculating the exact times of the two shows and comparing them in some kind of twisted labratory.
