Here we go again..
It seems that there's only one right opinion to be had concerning Shelley's vocals. Which goes against the whole concept of a forum. This place is here for people to share there facts, opinions + views on matters concerning the MLB and/or its members.
It's very rude the way people are basically discouraged to do just that! Just because they happen to disagree with some people. Not everyone's keen on Shelley's vocals... so deal with it. Don't give people shit for doing exactly what you are doing too.. Expressing an opinion.
~ end of rant ~

The question that should be asked is, why would someone resort to 'being openly rude'? I know a lot of people are reluctant to post. Newbies and old-timers alike. It has a lot to do with rather hostile responses to posts.

It's fair enough if people don't like Shelley's vocals - but that's not always been where the "discussion" has stopped. Comments have - especially since Michael left the band - been more of a personally attacking nature, and when that person isn't around to defend herself against the the gossip and insults, then it's not particularly fair at best, downright childish at worst.

Have to say though it's nice that the board is once more being used to discuss the Mark Lanegan Band and its members, even if the subject matter is a bit contentious

...ditto, until recently there was only one, well two opinions, those who didn't like her singing and those who thought she was a hot chick... i disagree. i thought she could sing AND i thought she was kinda hot*. why should those things be mutually exclusive when males form opinions? many of the females here go on about fancying mark, but does that mean they're incapable of forming opinions on the things he does? the presumption is that the girls hate her cos she's with the boys... the boys hate her cos they cant have her and it's a man's world, or... they love her because they want to fuck her and are presumably incapable of forming an opinion of her performance. which is utter bullshit. this is like being at school. ive seen her twice on this tour and she sang her parts without fault, despite unkind monitoring and sound. and 'come to me' was fantastic in london. end of. *by the way, she's not really my type... the 'tattooed rock chick' thing doesnt really do it for me. (this post may contain slight punctuation/typing errors because it is a rant.)

I never actually said it was just the men saying she was hot or she was talented, some women can acknowledge when another woman is attractive......... ....and as for fancying Mark & forming an opinion on his actions, I really couldn't give a flying f*ck what he says or does as long he turns up tomorrow night at the Astoria then I'll let you know the answer to that one
