Ive just watched a film called Telstar its about the crazy life of Joe Meek, he was an (early) 60s record producer who recorded in his 3 story apartment above a handbag shop. Having many many hits with different artistes at first,(he had turned down The Beatles, Bowie, Tom jones to name but a few) leading to desparation , problems with his sexuality and an amphetamine fuelled paranoia resulting in suicide. A fascinating film.

Denmark's only attempt at making a monster movie (wonder why...). I've only seen the Danish version, and the English version is supposedly a bit different (they didn't include af very strange sing-song scene with a bunch of kids). It's not really a good movie, but it's so extremely bad that it's really funny ;D

Hello, folks! New member here. The best movie I've seen recently was Man Bites Dog. Pretty disturbing at times, though!

Welcome! Just took my boys to Rise of the Guardians. Not disturbing at all, and just what we all needed.

Totally original horror film, starring the bloke who voices Dobby in the Harry Potter films. Fantastic soundtrack too from Broadcast (RIP Trish )

Hooligans. Some people say that Elijah Wood is not credible at all as the rich, pretty-faced Harvard guy who turns into a street thug, IMO the transformation worked. As far as "social messages" go, I'm not sure how to look at this movie, it seems not to have a clear point of view on hooliganism, but as a simple story, it definitely works.

Blind Date. Kim Basinger and Bruce Willis are absolutely brilliant on this one. Blake Edwards directed it, so you know you can expect fireworks.

aha! than Blind Date is what I'm going to download. I was just thinking the other day how I watched so many '80 films back in the '90 on television, especially Kim Basinger came to mind, so popular back than now seems totally forgotten. Yesterday I watched Two-Lane Blacktop that has James Taylor as an actor pretty bad acting, but I liked the seventies feeling of it.
