Irn Bru adverts are the best adverts ever. Which is why they tend to upset people and get banned rather quickly. Like this one. Or this one. Or this one. This one is the best one though

There's this documentary up on youtube each series has 7 parts. I'm not sure if it was a BBC or Vh1 special but I've been watching the alternative music ones. They mostly talk about Nirvana and Seattle.

There's this documentary up on youtube each series has 7 parts. I'm not sure if it was a BBC or Vh1 special but I've been watching the alternative music ones. They mostly talk about Nirvana and Seattle. It was a BBC series from last year which was entertaining, if a little hit & miss. The alternative one is excellent when it does its homework properly (it's not every day that Black Flag get to be on BBC2) but falls a bit short when the doc basically says "therewasblackflagthentherewasREMthentherewasnirvanaandthatsit" without really going into much depth about anything. Rollins as always is the incredible raconteur, but the main 2 impressions I got from the programme was Everett True plugging his book and that the BBC spent most of their cash on getting the rights to play Nirvana songs. I plug this rather a lot, but with good reason: Don Letts' Punk: Attitude DVD (from which quite a lot of interview footage was gleaned for the Punk & Alternative 7 Ages of Rock shows by the BBC) is far better and far more interesting - and it has Rollins taking the deserved piss out of Limp Bizkit

Oh I'll have to try and find that. I have Westway To The World and I like Letts style of documentary.

Fishing With John, Episode 2: Tom WaitsYes, by linking to this, I am forced to admit that I watched a godawful TV programme last night, but what the hey - it's Tom Waits. Best bit's around the 1-minute mark, but it's all cheery stuff (unless you happen to be a fish). CAUTION: Contains traces of knee.

If I had my way, there'd be some sort of kitten-based subthread. As this is probably not technically possible, have a couple of Friday kittins: Kittin Number 1: Climbing into a bottle, and then climbing back out again. This is probably rather cruel, as putting food in amusingly-shaped small spaces whiffs a bit of possibly endangering a cat's wellbeing in order to look silly on the internet, and a more suspicious type than me would wonder if the owners hadn't been through several different-sized bottles and possibly cats in order to maximise comedic effect. Still, the music's rather jolly. Kittin Number 2: Revenge! Cat finds out who made the video above and takes the appropriate action. The devil's in the detail, as the noise at the end sounds like it really hurt

Live action Garfield. Short clips showing just how unfunny Garfield actually is - but that's not the reason why this is so ace. Each "cartoon" (and there have been 28 of them posted to date) is accompanied by what can only be described as utter weirdness. The one linked to above is accompanied by a very surreal video while Johnny Mandel's Suicide is Painlesss tinkles away in the background (crushing melancholy and Garfield seems to be a patrnership that works well - see also this), but they're all a bit mad - like this Final Fantasy (VI?) one...

Here's another one of those, the best one I think. This video is just amazing for reasons beyond the 'funny' subtitles. The costumes and hillside choreography are great. www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYwS9k1ZexY
