We don't have ambulances in the North. Just slightly faster ice-cream vans. with people bleeding from gunshot wounds, rather than a machine that has strawberry sauce.

I do not mind it. I have a few songs I think that I can try to add. I need to record them and then post them.
I just took that green van to the scrap yard this week.

Nice one. My main musical focus has been a version of "Do You Want To Build A Snowman?" from Disney's Frozen...

My kids have been singing the crap out of that one lately. It is a cross that most of us have to bear. I feel your pain.

Thanks and great to see you on the board. I am working on three others that I hope to be able to post sometime this week. My voice is a little rough this week. That might help though.

Sounds good, man. Not sure if your voice has improved over the years (not that it was bad before) or whether the song just suits you. Either way, nice stuff.

Thanks Marc. I know my voice has changed over the years probably more from me NOT singing as much as singing. I have had to get more comfortable in a different register. I use the capo to find what key feels most comfortable to sing in. I have liked that song (mostly the live version they did) from the get go.
The singing voice on tape is definitely different than the voice I hear in my head which has taken some getting used. I have started recording myself and playing it back to try to figure out what I need more work on. It has taken some getting used to, but it has helped me find material that is better suited for me rather than just things I want to play.

I have started recording myself and playing it back to try to figure out what I need more work on. It has taken some getting used to, but it has helped me find material that is better suited for me rather than just things I want to play. It's good, man. Recording yourself and listening back to it is the key. It helps you to understand your voice as an instrument, and to understand what the rest of the world hears - because you're the only person in the world who hears it the way you hear it. I'll never forget being 14 years old and convincing myself I could sing Drain You EXACTLY LIKE Kurt Cobain... then running down to my dad's workshop to set up our old cassette player to record myself and being horrified at the playback. I got better. Singing is all about knowing your instrument (ie, voice) is, rather than trying to emulate your heroes/influences or forcing yourself to sing something in the original key jsut because that's the key which worked for someone else's voice. Imagine if Lanegan had spent his entire career trying to sound like Neil Young, y'know? It's all about personality and vibe for me, and I think your voice really fits that song in that key. You just seem like someone who is comfortable in their abilities and understanding what their voice can/can't/should/shouldn't do (unlike my recent attempt at singing Jeff Buckley's 'Everybody Here Wants You', which got more and more painful as I tried to stretch my voice to hit the high notes in the mistaken belief that my pushed falsetto would give it more of a Prince vibe......!)

The first minute of your Shadow of the Season arrangement sounds like Nick Drake crossed with a Morricone score. That's a good thing.
