Would seem the big guy is back on his feet - hallelujah!
From nme.com:
QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE celebrated the end of their US tour in LA last night (April 18) by reuniting with sometime vocalist MARK LANEGAN onstage.
Lanegan left the Queens trek earlier this month citing exhaustion, but midway through the band’s set at the Henry Fonda Theatre the singer joined the band for a host of songs.
With Lanegan present QOTSA, which now features Desert Sessions members Alain Johannes on bass and guitar and Natasha Shneider on keyboards, performed ‘Hangin’ Tree’, ‘God Is In The Radio’, ’Precious And Grace’ and ‘Song for the Dead’.
As the Queens wrapped up their two-hour long set with a second encore, ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons came out to surprise the group. A source close to the band told NME.COM the bearded guitarist recently jammed with Josh Homme’s troupe of musicians, but joining them on stage for ‘Burn The Witch’ was a last minute decision.
"It’s a real honour to play with Billy Gibbons," Homme told the crowd, later quipping, "I think we look identical."
Queens Of The Stone Age start a new tour on May 18 in Tempe, Arizona.

I sorta agree with you about finishing the Gutter Twins album but then again it'd be pity for Mark himself not to come to Europe cause he obviously loves the continent. ;D

This show sold out while I was having computer problems and I was unable to get tix. I checked everywhere for the past few weeks...there were just 2 different people scalping tix for $100/ticket and $150/ticket...we just couldn't do it, on principal. I haven't missed a show they've put on here in 4 1/2 years. I am QUITE upset about missing this one...I knew Mark would show. Karlito alluded to the possibility of more L.A. shows being scheduled, but, alas, it did not happen. I merely sit here clutching to my hope, burying my sadness.

M0ng0 i do agree about the Gutter Twins, but Mark does seem to love europe, so i'm all for him coming back. in fact, i command it!

Lava that fuckin'sucks, girl.
That same freakin' thing happened to me, but with the Earthlink Live show in Atlanta.
Don't fret too much... It's LA, they'll definitely return.
Although, I'm not as confident about ATL.
Later...

FUCK!! that's some one-time only shit. i am glad that lanegan is alive though, that's good to know.

hehe sorry lava, I dont think there is anyone I would pay 100$ to see actually with the conversion rate, that would be about $70 AUS, which is cheaper than the $80-$90 I paid to see them last time. bastard.

Thanks everyone My sympathy to those people living in areas they rarely tour. And Karlito...I couldn't go to the Saturday one... Hopefully, the next one will be just as amazing and all the L.A. peeps will be there.

you've made a powerful and confused enemy today, foz. That makes 3 in total so far, and it's not even dark yet. And that doesn't include enemies that are either confused or powerful, yet not both

Lava, I couldn't get an LA ticket either, or a San Diego one for that matter! But I did get one to Ventura, so I'm going to try to swing that. Last I looked, they still had tix available for that show. I would doubt Mark would do those others, though, but you never know.
So Mapquest says it'll take me 3 hours and 15 minutes to drive to Ventura. But it's on Memorial day, so with people driving home from their long weelends, how long will it take me? 6 hours??
