just in case someone else intends to post a song with lyrics and chords:
if you want the chords to appear above the matching words you have to put a pre-tag around the whole tab and give it a fixed size –>
["size=3"] ["pre"]
TAB
["/pre"] ["/size"]
like that (without the quote marks, of course)
also, use spaces not tabs for the blank space

anyone who could do some soulsavers tabs? i'm thinking primarily of Ghost, paper money and jesus of nothing.

Since I'm only tabbing songs that you can play on acoustic guitar, I'm not all that exited about doing Ghost, paper money and jesus of nothing... (though paper money might actually work out).
which leads me to another topic: since Auld Painless took the effort to post a lot tabs, I seem to be the only one who is posting tabs (every once in a while). sometimes people ask for a song and if I (try to) tab it and post it - that's it! no response. and I'm not talking about "thank you so much..." (though an occasional "thanks" would be nice), I'm talking about a sign of LIFE in this part of the board!. When there was talk about starting a tab-chapter on onewhiskey a lot of people were excited and wanted to post tabs - what happened?

When there was talk about starting a tab-chapter on onewhiskey a lot of people were excited and wanted to post tabs - what happened? i'm completely with you and really REALLY appreciate your work you've done so far and hope you will still contribute in the future. the thing with me (and i think some others here as well) is, that i'm really a retard in playing guitar and especially gettin better, so for instance that i could hear a song and try it a bit and get a tab in average quality that i could post. the only tabs i posted so far (2 or 3 i think) were requests some one had and i knew they were around the net or on the gone screamingtrees.org or that i had on my harddrive somewhere. i still wonder why the (really good and never done before) powertabs clem posted as a download a while before didnt surface here. i still have them and mailed them to lungsey (like wanted), when he/she (?) still had his email adress posted (which of course ended approx. 2 days after i mailed them, without getting responce...). i have to say i'm also a retard in uploading stuff to a site (mega or rapid or...) and everyonce in a while someone will say:'this doesnt work for me could you please post it anywhere else, rapidshare is a bitch for me, bla bla'. these are my thoughts so far to this topic. please keep the great work here done so far up, instrument idiots like me need them and are very thankful, as we all can hear, marks tabs mostly arent that virtuos, which is cool, cause his voice would beat every difficult guitar. cheers to paco de lucia!

When there was talk about starting a tab-chapter on onewhiskey a lot of people were excited and wanted to post tabs - what happened? i never anticipated much life (ie. conversation) in this subforum when i suggested it, but i thought it would be a good reference for fans wanting to play Lanegan tunes... i haven't had anything to contribute, but i really appreciate anything that has been added here. edit: It looks like there is a reasonable number of views for each song thread, considering that most have zero replies.

I print them off...so it's not like I view them every time I need to see them.
I also haven't played guitar in months and months. I'd tab some bass, but I think you can stick to the chord changes for the most part..

Thing is, if the tabs in question are accurate - or at least close enough - on the first go, then there is little need to be that interactive. Not that many people actually bother to say thankyou for any work done (see also: the Downloads forum), most of the stuff posted here will be from other, older sources and won't need any corrections/amendments, and probably something else. As Bubbles has said, it's a reference more than a conversation piece. All I can add to that is that I hope that it gets added to as much as possible, but I should also warn people not to be met with public waves of gratitude, a that's not the way that the internet tends to work. I'm not really selling this, am I? But in the plus side, anyone who does post tabs here can fully expect to have their stuff nicked from here and posted on many other messageboards without credit, because we're a popular and well-read bunch - it's just that nobody cares to admit it Bass tabs would be nice, but when general bass playing tends to equate to "put finger somewhere, count to 8, put finger somewhere else, count to 8 again, put finger back where it was" I'm not quite sure what mileage we can get out of it. I was sacked from more bands than I care to remember for being "too flamboyant" as a bassist, which is vocalist/lead guitarist speak for "you move around more than I do". The more things the merrier though

Again, it's not about expressions of gratitude (even though, if someone requests a specific song and you deliver that song a thank you wouldn't hurt). But I can live with that... I just thought that originally more people wanted to contribute, that's all. I totally understand that a lot of people just can't do tabs (or think they can't), because they simply can't figure it out - just like I can't figure out every song (in a reasonable period of time). That's why I was asking for some feedback: because I'm not 100% sure of the accuracy of my tabs! BUT: if the lack of response is equal to the accuracy of my tabs then I gotta be pretty awesome at this. So, I guess I'll just keep on posting whenever I find the urge to tab a new Lanegan song.

I already requested this before but could someone sent us on megaupload or somewhere else a zip file with all the Lanegan power tabs a guy named clement made a few months ago. The files are there but are not downloadable: www.powertabs.net/artist.php?param=pattern,2359,100;page,0 I'm sure that someone here still have a copy on his hardrive. It would be really nice to have it here (or by PM). Thanks in advance

Hi, I just registered to this lovely site. I would be really happy if someone could write the chords for: "Sally Don't you cry" and/or "Trouble" (I hope they're somewhat simple 'cause I'm somewhat of a newbie)

I just want to say a huge thankyou to everyone who has contributed so far and that has helped this section such a great (and from a moderator point of view, 100% hassle-free, which is the important bit!) resource. Everyone's input has been totally appreciated - even from a bassplayer like me who gave up guitaring long ago as 6 strings were far too complicated - and I hope that this section continues to grow to become the place to visit for Mark Lanegan-related guitar playing stuff. Or something.
Thanks everyone!

I second that request. "Woe" is a great song. I would like to play it for my bro, he diggs this, and many other Lanegan songs....second thought, maybe he wouldn't understand it...afterall, he's "retarded" but he know's a good song when he hears it.

Hi, first of all thanks a lot to all of you who tab these great songs (and keep this forum running or at least walking), i can barely scratch a few cords on the guitar so this is really usefull. I found a few sites with lanegan tabs, you probably already know them but here they are, just in case www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/mark_lanegan_tabs.htm and www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/mark_lanegan_tabs.htm those two are the most complete, I think (this forum is bigger and better but I've found some songs there that are not here) Oh and I'll sign my name under the "woe" request too
