Not sure why the TO opener is such a mystery. An evening with Soundgarden is probably too much to ask. If the opener is Coheed & Cambria, I will need a PBR IV--asap.

Ben needs to focus on gunfighting music not learning the bass line to Billy Jean

Stop living in the past. Billie Jean will not be making this set list. Listen to those vox I just posted. HA!

I thought listening to Soundgarden was living in the past

well, if want to get technical... it's like the mid 90s again. ..except older. ..and fatter. ..and more business-minded and cynical. Which is not entirely true for me-- definitely older and fatter, but I guess I am more stuck in say 89 or 90--see-I just favorited this one from 1990 : Either way in about 30 hours I will be blissfully living in the live music present moment. ;D

Saw SG last night. C&C were awesome. The sound wasn't great but they got the energy across and Claudio's vocals were excellent. Odd to pair 2 bands whose entire live performances hinge on the quality of the vocalist that evening.
Soundgarden was incredible. I can't really believe what I saw. I pretty much gave up on SG live after Superunknown. All of the recordings I have heard from 93-98 are pretty poor. Usually Cornell is to blame for that. Unbelievably, he didn't miss a single note last night. The band sounded absolutely flawless. Even Loud Love was incredible. I saw the setlist before the show and cringed when that was listed as an encore. Chris fucking nailed it. If you have doubts about this tour, take the chance... and grab me a poster while you are there.

You got a slightly better set list, but I am not going to bitch about a single thing. Now I need another live show desperately!!
You're staring at me, like I need to be SAVED!

i am in ottawa at present and looking forward to this! my only gripe (slready!) is that they changed the festival times so that tegan and sara play at the same time as soundgarden. i was really looking forward to seeing t&s, but for now it looks like they will have to wait!

www.chriscornell.com/i just listened to Chris Cornell's new song "The Keeper." My first impression is that it's his best song since writing Seasons 20 years ago. What do the rest of yas think?

well, i know audioslave somehow got to 3 albums before giving up, but there were a complete fail as far as i am concerned. ditto with the timbaland colab. I'm not sure what cornell ever did to make himself want to turn in such a wrong direction, but he seems to be back with songs like this.
and the really scary part is that billie jean was neither a timbaland nor audioslave venture...

apparently "the keeper" was produced by Alain Johannes. If Chris is back working with Alain again, I expect brilliance.

My mind went directly to Seasons when I heard this song. I'm wondering if it was something he had sitting around since that era. As happy as I am that Alain is working with Chris again, I'm much happier to know he's working with Mark.

My mind went straight to sleep, again its not bad....its just not a return to form per se, at least to my feeble ears, this song is slick, too slick to remind me of anything off of euphoria morning, that album had a vibe and presence, this is just a slick pop song thats not obnoxiously annoying and its well done, just not very interesting to my ears at least. I wish him well !

I wish him well ! I hear ya. I listened once, just once and that was my first impression. I never even gave it a second listen. However, I heard Sunshower today and had the usual physical/emotional response to that song (the same response I would have when listening to Seasons, or EM, or any old SG). That stuff comes across as inspired and creates inspiration as well. I don't know what's missing, but it doesn't seem to do it for me anymore.
