Does anyone have any thoughts on the new album? :-)

It is certainly not my favorite album, but I don't think it is terrible either. I accept it as the collaborative effort they wanted to put out there for their fans. You either appreciate it or you don't. I am still just so thankful that they are a functioning unit and have far exceeded expectations with their live performances. I can only hope to see them again live.
I like what Kim said in an ultimate-guitar.com interview: Being away for 16 years and still having your fans support you must mean a lot.
It feels excellent. Growing up bands break up and sometimes they reform and sometimes they don't. Often they'd reform and the concern is they somehow neglect their legacy. They come back and do something to ruin the legacy and charm that you've established in your mind. They do something that sounds different or they try to do something more commercial. We felt strong and comfortable about this record as being part of that-what would you call it? I don't wanna oeuvre because that sounds so annoying to say. You go egg in French referring to your body of work [laughs]. But I think it fits nicely in the body of work and it's not some appendage. Sometimes when bands reunite and they do another album, I don't file it with the others as part of their body of work. It seems like something that's separate. But with this I think it totally fits and the response from reviewers and some fans is that it fits with "Superunknown" and "Down On The Upside" and "Louder Than Love".

Alice, how was the TO show? ;D I'm late seeing this...sorry The T.O. show was great. I somehow managed to get right up to the stage, in front of Chris! There were only two short...yes, short people in front of me! They played long & loud. I liked their set but also wished they left Black Hole Sun off the list. I was actually disappointed & it let a lot of steam out of me when they played it but I got it back quick enough. Matt Cameron is an animal on Spoonman (still love that song after all these years). My favourite song of the night was By Crooked Steps for a couple reasons. 1-It rocks & I sang my heart out. 2-Ben & I had a bonding moment during that song :-*haha. 3-I got to share it with someone very special that couldn't be at the show. I regretted not getting tickets to the second show. I had sooo much fun ;D

One must also remember that despite Cornell's goofy antics: Kim Thayil is the SHIT. Ben Sheperd is the SHIT. Matt Cameron is pretty good too. I'll go. For some reason, I always end up on page 1 on this thread. And this post always makes me smile.
