London show is now sold out. Sorry, I see that's been mentioned. Anyway enormous thanks to this place for keepping us informed. The mailing lits for the various ticket sites I'm registered with didn't. This would have been so easy to miss.

I'm going to update the first post of his thread with this info, but didn't want you to miss it. Tel Aviv is happening, but no info yet. There will be another date added in Spain - no info yet. And the London show is being moved to La Scala - I am assuming this is to accommodate more people? Which is cool. When I get firmer info I will post, and update the main site as well.

I'm really happy to see mark with dave rosser but honestly i can't understand the meaning of this tour....he's not about to release a new album tours don't HAVE to be about promoting a new album. Mark is a working musician. He and Greg didn't have a new album out when they did the acoustic shows last year - they weren't really promoting the Gutter Twins album, they were just an easy money-maker and a celebration of their music. doing a simple acoustic tour is something that longterm European fans like myself have been vocal in requesting for over a decade from Mark. so, the answer to "what is the meaning of this tour?" would be... a) it's what the fans want, and Mark seemed to really enjoy the Mark & Greg acoustic shows, so he likes the format and simplicity after trying it last year. b) it gives Mark the chance to tour Europe with someone he stated he would be collaborating with early this year (ie now - which raises questions like 'will they be writing stuff on the road? have they already written stuff?')... and Mark gets to spend time with another good friend and collaborator (Dave Rosser on guitar, as I said weeks ago when you told me he wasn't available..). c) it's a chance for Mark to tour solo after a 6 year live hiatus when his popularity level has gone beyond anything I personally thought it could EVER reach. In those 6years, a lot of people have discovered Mark's music and this is the first chance they will have to see him in a solo context. So there is a new audience as well as the audience who have been waiting for this for 15years who will be happy to see Mark working in an acoustic context. d) it's cheap, easy to get started, and profitable - ie, getting a couple of people and an acoustic guitar (rather than a whole band and all their gear) means less rehearsals, less roadies/crew/bandmembers etc to split profits with, less money on bus hire, less money on travel expenses, etc. All of this means a bigger chunk of revenue from ticket sales goes straight into the pockets of the performers who can then live comfortably to create more work and maybe buy their own recording time (rather than ending up getting screwed by the record company) which puts the artist in a stronger position with their label... -- Not every tour is part of a 'record album, promote with live tour, record next album, promote with new live tour' schedule. smiley means no shouty angriness, please..

you got some fuckin valid points so mark needs money even after all the tours and records of the last 6 years ? i know he's not a RICH musician, but i thought he had earned a good amount of money with all the tours and the albums lately.... and after the tour with the soulsavers i hoped to see him workin on a new solo album instead of a new tour. Even if i'm fuckin happy to see him live again in a wonderful acoustic show

Fans like me ; seen him with Isobel and Soulsavers but not on his own. And as for the money side of things, I obviously have no way of knowing but , if I had to guess I'd say he's making a more than comfortable living doing what he loves but that he's not in the " I'll never have to work again " or "I can can spend millions on a tour " league so he probably does need the money. It's a win-win for him and us.

Well today in the mail I received my tickets to the shows in Utrecht & Eindhoven! I'll be buying my plane tickets shortly so I'm finally going to see Mark solo! (fingers crossed) And acoustic! And it's the opening of the tour!
I don't see him coming to Canada anytime soon so I may as well go to Dutchland. And even though I'm not much of a writer (I started this sentence with "and") and I can never remember a set-list for the life of me I swear on a boy scout or whatever that I'll write reviews.
By the way, Europe. Sorry about that fuck you comment. We're still cool right? Please don't eat me alive.

Please don't eat me alive. Ofcourse we're cool. No worries. There is no need to worry. Not at all. Can i suggest you double check your sleeping arrangements? Or at least bring some sort of weapon. I'd be too easy to kill you in your sleep if you're not able to put up a bit of a fight. About the reviews... lets stick together on this one. I'm sure we'll get something down on paper. Somehow

So any chances of any added dates in...France? It seems that each time Mark Lanegan is doing an acoustic tour, he skips France (the Gutter Twins carefully avoided it even though they toured most of western Europe last year). I know we're very lucky here to get to see him play live quite regularly, but it would be such a treat to hear him sing with just an acoustic guitar in the background. Come on fellow French members of the forum, in good old local fashion, let's rebel against this gross injustice, and let's make it known to Sir Lanegan himself that we demand his presence on our fair land as not all of us can afford to travel abroad to hear him ravish our ears. PS: if his records are popular enough to get stolen in Paris public librairies (not by me in case you are wondering), the man sure has a following here ;-)

any news about the tel aviv gig? (crossing my fingers) Yep - just added it to the list, 20 May at Zappa Club. Also another date in Spain on 18 May. I believe more dates may be coming, but I have not heard anything about adding any other continents to the tour, unfortunately.
