The album is out now in Denmark, and hopefully soon in the US. Mark sings on the title track, "Coming Home", which you can hear here: maggiebjorklund.com/music.htm

Quite nice, actually very nice, although it's the sort of thing he can pretty much do in his sleep.

Very nice. When that album hits the US, I'm all over it. Here's a video of Maggie playing pedal steel with Rusty Willoughby. The band also includes Rachel and Barb from my favorite Seattle band, Visqueen, plus Barrett Martin on bass. (Rachel also sang on Maggie's album.) vimeo.com/13448287

I like it. It's a quiet Sunday song, or a peaceful night-time song.
I was struggling, for a moment, to work out the connection to Mark - but she's worked with Mark Pickerel and Barrett Martin as well...
Maybe she's working on an arboretum... :-)

I agree. Craving for more electric sound now. Seriously i think it's time. You do realise you're on the website of a solo artist who has released 6 albums, 5 of which are predominantly filled with music that most people would describe as 'acoustic'... along with 3 albums with Isobel Campbell that would be described in the same way? You may as well go on a Britney forum and say that you're 'craving a more metal sound now.' I'm teasing you. Love you x

Beautiful music, thanks so much for sharing it with us.
I enjoy Mark's singing, but her pedal steel playing is actually the more interesting part of these songs for me! Just now listening to the instrumental "Insekt," and actually digging it more than the two Mark duets I just listened to, which I like also.

^ and at that link up there 'Intertwined' is made available by the record label as a free mp3 so download away and then buy the album. The vinyl is only $10 dollars for now (a nickle more than the cd,) if Intertwined is even decent I think I'll grab it. Let's find out.

I received my copy yesterday. Very nice slow record. Sounds like a cassic record for the cold months of the year. The 2 songs with Mark are nice; but usuallly the whole record is very atmospheric. It works also without Marks participation.

i got my limited edition lp in the mail today and would reccomend it if you are a fan of mark's lighter side. i know this will inevitably get compared to isobel campbell, but it is different than that stuff.
the lp comes with download codes of the entire album (plus a bonus track), and mine also included a download sampler of new and unreleased songs of artists on bloodshot records. also a nice big red sticker for bloodshot records.
as mentioned above, the record cost 10 bucks, a nickel more than the cd (sorry, it's 10.95 now) and is limited to 1000. well worth it.

I listened to the stream of the album, I wasn't impressed. I am a fan of Mark's "lighter" side, plus a pretty broad range of other music, I just wasn't moved by Maggie's work. I actually disliked her vocals on the two songs with Mark - the "ahhhh ahhhhh" on Coming Home just reminded me of the original Star Trek theme (in a bad way) and Intertwined just sounds like it could have been done better - their voices mesh alright when they match up, but when they aren't singing the same thing at the same time, I find her voice a little grating. Now, the duet with Christine Owman I'm really looking forward to - I checked her music out and she blew me away almost immediately.
