I really like the song. Really enjoyed Mannas "Songs of hope and desire" record too. I think I´ll also buy the actual record. Manna reminds me a little bit of PJ Harvey; one of my most favorite artists.

"Wishing Well" featuring Lanegan has very nice lyrics...sounds of death, escape, guilt and redemption...to me at least...this song often gives me the chills...quite often Lanegan's best work happens upon the simplest melodic & lyrical structures...that's what makes it so deep, do ya fucking get it? ...pure f'n talent! Scared ya, didn't he?
...although I can't quite for the life of me decipher what's being chanted in the background during Lanegan's chorus part...is it "hallelujah" or "ah-ooh-gah!" (Mark likes trains n shit, right?)
here's the lyrics
The Wishing Well - Manna & Lanegan
took a walk down the shore made one wish and asked for more and I threw the wish down into the well watched it turn into a spell as I said my goodbyes I cried with the wishing well
cast down like a coin only god knows my shame as I bury the bulk and I then erase the blame
oh tell them I'm sorry oh tell him I cared but in these mighty faults they stick to my head for I carry the devil and I feel like a whore in this life of shame I've tried to leave once more
cast down like a coin only god knows my shame as I bury the bulk and I then erase the blame
I give you hope at night just try to find me I give you hope at night you got nothin' on me I let go I am numb from the cold my wishes are granted by the wishing well
oh I give you hope at night you got nothin' on me how I give you hope at night just try to find me I let go I am numb from the cold my wishes are granted by the wishing well
cast down like a coin only god knows my shame as I bury the bulk and I then erase the blame
