My second question:
Ana Luisa, São Paulo, Brazil: Once you said, in an interview about Bubblegum, a couple of touching phrases about your songs that I particularly love and never forgot: "...luckily, some people can connect to this shit, this music, that aren't junkies. But I always figured that I was making this music for my own people." Nowadays, you're clean, healthy and seem happy and in peace with yourself. Have you made Blues Funeral still thinking about or inspired by those people whose feelings you understood so well in the past? Do you still feel connect to them, somehow, and even still able to translate their anguish in your songs?

Max from Moscow, Russia asks: In 2010 you've visited the Moscow for the first time ever. We sincerely hoped that Russia will become a regular place for your visits, but regretted not found ourselves in your tour schedule. I would like to know your impression of Russia & is there a chance to see you with “Blues Funeral” in 2012 in Russia?

♫ ♪ From Miami,FL:
Was there anything in particular that inspired you to make this album, other artists, art or life in general?
Some artists care little about the package, and just care about the music. how involved are you with the album design concept? What's the meaning of the flower pattern of the cover?
From the few samples we've heard so far, there seems to be a lot of different instrumentation on this album. Vocals aside, How involved were you in the musical aspect of the album? Do you allow the musicians to interpret the songs their own way or do you maintain control one way or another?

Sara from Scotland asks:
When you are writing lyrics, are you more concerned with the meaning of the words (either for yourself or for the listener) or do you often choose words just so that they sound beautiful? (And they do sound beautiful! Especially in French... blushes...) Is it easier to sing your own lyrics?

Any plans for a South American tour of Blues Funeral? I hope so!

Hello Mark, any chance we might hear any Mad Season songs on the Blues Funeral tour?
Personal note: I spoke with Nancy (Layne's mother) via phone a few year's back and she had nothing but good things to say about you. Apparently, she's a fan of your work especially with Mad Season =) Just wanted to relay the message.

19 days left...makes me wanna "ooohhh child!" ...in any case, please allow me to top cokboyz-notsodeluxe multiple supersized extra lame comments with another interesting question for Mark...feels so good to be back on the Blues Funeral track...choo choo! Move over rover...Blues Funeral's about to take over! ...although cokboy did have a very good question for Mark though ("How much of a role did Josh Homme have in the recording of Blues Funeral in comparison to Bubblegum and Here Comes That Weird Chill? Also, do you think you would ever tour or record with the Queens of the Stone Age again?" ...that I wouldn't mind being answered but after hearing the malicious Mad Season comment I have to seriously ponder cokboy's credibility...maybe he's just a really big arrogant QOTSA fan. Travis from Los Angeles ??questions Mark??? - What will you be up to during the 2 weeks and 5 days in between the last of only 2 U.S. shows between Feb.9 at the Echoplex in Los Angeles and and your first show abroad for the Blues Funeral tour Feb.24 in Tromso, Sweden? ...are you gonna lay low with family and friends for these few weeks or are you gonna be busy with everything that comes with preparing for a worldwide album tour? ...or something completely different?

Joe from Baltimore, MD again. I realize I've already exceeded my question limit, but what the hell I'll throw in one more just in case...it's not Blues Funeral related either, but I have to ask:
Whatever happened to the "gunfighting music" we heard about several years ago? I remember it rumored as something you and Ben Shephard had been tossing around. If you know what I'm referring to, how did those ideas/tunes come about? Was there ever anything finished that was never released?
After listening to Burning Jacob's Ladder again, I had to ask. It has a very western/bad-ass kind of vibe to it that I love. Again just throwing it out there...
