Dmitri from Vancouver, BC, Canada:
Hi Mark, Will you ever consider coming to Vancouver to play? I've been a fan of yours for many years, but I've noticed you do not appear in Canada very much. I have two friends with criminal records that adore your music, but they can't visit the US to see you play. I also know many people that love your music here in Canada. Can we look forward to seeing you play here more in the future? Is there a chance that you might bring the Blues Funeral tour to Canada? Thank you for all your brilliant music.

jane from Alabama asks: "Do you speak French? What (if anything in particular..) was your inspiration behind those beautiful lyrics in "Gravedigger's Song"? and "Have you thought about shooting any videos for Blues Funeral?" btw: Rio Hackford did an amazing job with Gutter Twins' "All Misery Flowers"..

Stephanie from Southwest Virginia asks, could you comment on the religious imagery you often use in your lyrics? I read an interview once where you said you were not religious but liked the mood of those images. What mood and meaning do Christian symbols convey for you? If my recall is correct that you do not subscribe to any traditional religious views, do you have any spiritual or existential ideas that hold power for you?

Rachel from Sydney, AUS would like to ask Mark, "Since I'm almost beside myself with excitement waiting to hear Blues Funeral, when you went in to record the album, was there any anticipation or nervousness on your part to be calling the shots with Mark Lanegan Band after collaborating with others for so many years or are your collaborations with MLB and others more equitable than that?

Gerard from Dublin, Ireland asks: Do you have plans to incorporate any material that you haven't played in a while (either Trees or solo) on this tour?
Thanks

Emilie from Paris, France: That's a very silly question, but as everything I wanted to know is already asked, I will ask it anyway: Do you ever play the card game Magic The Gathering? If not, maybe you should, because the titles of most of Blues Funeral songs seem to suggest this universe is close to yours ;-) (Yes, I'm crazy, I know...)

Aaron from PEI Canada writes:
When you first decided to do a new solo album, did you check in at the onewhiskey.proboards forum to see what type of songs, what type of album your fans were hoping for?
If so, how often do you read the forum and what do you think of it?

Does the release of Blues Funeral in the year 2012 after an 8 year gap between solo albums have anything to do with the Mayan calendar?

Will a lyric sheet be included in the album? Why haven't you ever printed lyrics in liner notes before?

This track listing is so tantalizing- every single one of them. Including “Riot in My House”, and “Ode to Sad Disco” . . .
Huh? Have you really written a song about disco? Lanegan goes Bee Gees? What’s the deal? What’s the story of the song?
Thanks so much!

Max from Berlin asks: Apart from thoroughly enjoying your musical output for many years, I've always pricked my ears when you've mentioned other musicians, older as well as contemporary, that you find inspiring and moving, and checked them out. I've made many a great discovery this way - the same goes for literature, incidentally. So is there anything you're into right now that you would recommend checking out?

Laura from Rome, Italy asks: ever thought of a different remix of some songs, for example "Harborview Hospital"? I was thinkin' about Daniel Lanois or even Brian Eno instead. Question number two (or one, if possible): since you're a huge admirer of great songwriters which use a lot of orchestral arrangiaments - talkin' about Fabrizio De André and Scott Walker - have you ever considered a collaboration between you and Maestro Ennio Morricone (a dream, for me first)? Thanks, Laura B.
