Username from Bronx NY: Will you be putting the "fun" in Funeral on this album and this tour? Or to state that as a serious qestion: Do you find touring to be fun or is it laborious/ work? How, if at all, will this album & tour differ from previous solo albums and tours?

Matthew from Phoenix, AZ asks:
You are prolific with collaborations with other artists. Are you generally friends with these people before you work with them, or are they strangers who reach out to you or your management? How does your label feel about putting out so much music on other labels while going eight years without releasing music with them?
Copyright infringement has been a big issue recently with SOPA/PIPA. How does it make you feel when “Harborview Hospital” leaks before the official release? Does piracy significantly impact you as an artist or a person? Do you have any thoughts on what a potential solution could be?

Joe from Baltimore, MD again. Yeah I sorry I have one more question, I know getting greedy but what the hell this opportunity doesn't happen often....Mark, thanks for clarifying your thoughts on the last Screaming Trees album in the recent issue of New Noise. I personally loved Last Words, even if it was only a series of demos compiled together.
My question is, have you considered covering any Trees songs on the upcoming tour(s)? Given that you've covered a few songs in the past on your solo tours (Shadow of the Season, Dying Days, Halo of Ashes, Traveler, etc); would you ever consider covering a tune from the recent Trees album? I bet songs like Black Rose Way, Reflections, and Last Words would sound amazing either acoustically or with a full band backing. Any thoughts?

Ana Luisa, São Paulo, Brazil: Would you like to record a movie soundtrack for Guillermo Arriaga (the screenwriter of Amores Perros, 21 Grams, Babel. And nowadays he's also a director)? This story is totally true, believe me: a couple of years ago, I sent him, by Twitter, a link to "Blues For D" on youtube (because I think this song has the same mood of his films) and he, very nice, answered my message, telling me that the song was awesome and could perfectly be included in one of his films.

Killingfloorman from Planet Earth (Brasil) asks: Your career has coincided with the traditional record label/rockststar model imploding. What do you think, going forward, is the best way for an artist like yourself to gets his product in front of an audience?
P.s thanks for the music over the years

Vibe from Denmark
When deciding on the tracklist of an album, do you intend the album to be coherent to the degree that every song calls for its "surroundings", sort of placing itself within a fixed narrative? Or do you intend for them to stand on their own and relate to each other on a higher level?

Yvonne from Vienna:
In a recent interview you have said that you really like this album...do you see it more as a coherent piece of work or do you have a personal favorite among the songs? if so, which song are you most happy with and what makes it your favorite?

Arthur from Paris : In the last two years, you started selling live cds at shows (a gesture much appreciated by the fans), what made you decide to do so and how do you pick the shows you release? Do you plan to go on with that during the Bues Funeral tour and/or release old shows from which you still have recordings?

Claire from Paris :
Your live shows with DESOTO CAUCUS in the last two years provided interpretations of some of your old tunes with a jazzy feeling. Did that "jazz" experience influence the sound and mood of Blues Funeral?

Loren from Philly asks:
I think it would be great if you played Crawlspace during the tour promote the latest Trees album? Also, I'll die a sad sad man if I don't get to hear Bed of Roses live. Ok, enough about the Trees. From what I've heard, new album sounds great by the way.

Olga from New York asks:
I'm excited to see that you are playing the Bowery Ballroom on the US release date of Blues Funeral. As you generally play the West Coast of the States more frequently, I was curious if there was any particular reason that NY was chosen for this show?
Also, do you read/enjoy reading reviews of your albums? Are professional critics’ reviews, or fan reviews of more interest to you, if any?
Thanks so much Mark!

Travis from Los Angeles wonders:
Your lyrics on The Gravediigger's Song contain ..."here's to the blood, we sing and burn" and on the final minute of Gray Goes Black similar lyrics are sang ..."into the blood we sink and burn." to me these lyrics have 2 very different meanings; the former as a toast to life itself, singing the joys and burning with passion. But the latter seems apacolyptic in a way; sinking into blood and burning, sounds like hell to me. Can you shed any light on these 2 song's similar lyrical content?

I love how Blues Funeral is so unrelentingly dark and ominous as to the more loveable and brilliantly rockin' Bubblegum.
Mark...can u not make us wait for a solo album for so long next time? You need to be more aware that you have tons of fans of ur solo shit that can't go so long without some fresh shit...so hook it up. Calobos have to wait from now on, ok? 4 year minimum but that doesn't mean u have to wait 4 years...k thats it.
thanks Mark!
