So Long Sin City (Mark Lanegan & Slash) so long Sin City, so long you've seen me crying while I know this life was lonely, ah yea I know this life was sweet goodbye my love, goodbye I am leaving the table let the drinks, let the drinks and the cards flow let them flow like Jesus blood somebody said there's nothing waiting except the ghost and its mystery and time as the enemy oh, make it all rain down below fall from the sky make it fall 'til I'm blind from the tears in my eyes I'll get on the train I will, I will wait in the water but I can see death in the shadow, oh lord that crawls across my floor somebody said nothing is waiting except the ghost and its history and time as the enemy oh, make it all rain down below fall from the sky make it fall 'til I'm blind from the tears in my eyes so long, so long Sin City (Slash guitar solo) somebody said there's nothing waiting except the ghost and its mystery and time as the enemy oh, make it all rain down below fall from the sky make it fall 'til I'm blind from the tears in my eyes

2011 movie starring Edward Furlong, directed by Olallo Rubio, from Mexico. I just stumbled on this last night and it's a pretty good mind fuck of a movie... plus the end credits feature the Lanegan/Slash song.

The opening verse very much reminds me of the Soulsavers' "Shadows Fall" song.

Well, that was extremely underwhelming. Does anyone know who wrote the lyrics....was it Slash or Mark?

Ewwww. Sounds like some kind of Velvet Revolter left-over w/ Lanegan singing Weiland's part.
Mark could fart better lyrics than these...

Sadly, this song is right down there with that Melissa Auful der Maur track, "Taste You." Proof that every once in a while, Lanegan does do wrong.

Good God, that broke my Suck-O-Meter. I hope Mark didn't pen the lyrics. They left a bad taste before I even heard the song. I just don't see Mark celebrating or feeling nostalgia for Las Vegas or anything it represents.

It's ok, not brill but not as bad as some of you say. . As for who wrote it there's a lot of Lanegan's favourite words in it but I suppose it might be Slash trying to sound like Lanegan.

That sounds entirely possible. Nonetheless I think it's a really really bad song. kingdomsofrain's "cheesier than Quattro Formaggi pizza." comment pretty much sums up my thoughts. I hope Mark literally phoned this in.

Perhaps this tells us why the "gunfighting music" Mark was doing with Slash has not seen the light of day?

Has anyone here heard Slash's album that came out last year (or the year before)? Was it good/bad/quattro formaggi?

Perhaps this tells us why the "gunfighting music" Mark was doing with Slash has not seen the light of day? ? The "Gunfighting Music" was with Ben Shepherd.

I didn't expect this to be good, and i was correct. Like the voice. Don't like the lyrics though, or the cringey music.
