Any fans on this forum? From a personal standpoint although I can't argue that they are my favourite band (although they are contenders) they are the most important band in my life. I discovered them back in the mid-late eighties about a year before Darklands hit. In an instant I went from being someone who had a vague interest in music to being an obsessive. It was as if an atom bomb had gone off in my head. Prior to my discovering Darklands (and then Psychocandy) I had been pretty mainstream in my music tastes. U2, Simple Minds and Big Country represented pretty much the entire spectrum of my musical tastes. After discovering the Mary Chain I went form someone who listened to music to someone who needed music to get by and had a voracious appetite for discovering new sounds both new and old. So...any fans kicking around on this forum? I can't imagine there aren't.

I love them. Everytime I listen to their music, I love it a bit more. But I don't listen to them very often - don't know why, and it perplexes me everytime I listen them. Because they are just so very very brilliant. And as a consequence, I haven't really gotten any further than 'Psychocandy' (but still, not a bad place to be stuck )
