I searched and didn't see a thread already started or involving this topic and I believe that it deserves one (sorry if it's already been posted and I just missed it somehow) - the album is streaming here and it's fantastic: www.myoldkentuckyblog.com/?p=35521doomed

Good, isn't it? I was quite surprised by the amount of old Jeff Klein stuff on there - if you've got Kidbones, Death Of The Fox & 33, there's plenty on there you'll recognise among the tracks in Preachers

Okay - I did another search and can't find anything related to My Jerusalem's Gone For Good - I apologize if this has been mentioned before - I just got the cd and see that Mark Lanegan is listed as a vocalist on the album - does anyone know which song/s he contributed to? (I haven't had the time to sit down and listen to the vocals song by song) btw - I'm LOVING this album - doomed PS - yes, silence, I'm loving Jeff Klein these days!

Doomed, Mark does backing vocals on Hit The Lights. Klein, over the past few years, has become one of my favourite artists, his solo work and of course My Jerusalem.
I have a question about "33". I know Jeff released it on his 33rd birthday, that it's 23 minutes long and contains the first outing of Mo' No, but I can't find any more information on it. Anyone who's heard it care to enlighten me? Ta.

33's a single-track collection of odds & ends that were knocking about at the time - it was supposed to have also been 33 minutes long, but there you go. On there are skeletal/alternate versions of things that have since appeared on My Jerusalem's 1st EP and new album, and two covers - Yazoo's Only You and a weird, autotuned version of Joni Mitchell's River. Ooh - and another track that I forgot about! Makes me wonder if I actually ever listened to this properly before.
It was indeed out on Jeff's 33rd Birthday, available for 24 hours only via his myspace page.

Is it (33) available anywhere at all now, silence? And thanks for all the info!

If it is I haven't found it. It's hard enough getting info about it (thanks again silence), save for one blog which points at the Myspace page as the place to download it. And as we know it was only available for 24 hours.

My "Preachers" cd arrived today (with my t-shirt and poster!) - need I say it's all I've been listening to since I received it?! I really, truly do love this album - every song is fantastic, but the ones that are being constantly replayed at the moment are "Devoe," "Preachers," "Shatter Together," - hell, I just can't decide - they're all great. Give it a listen.

I received a promo CD the other week, still waiting for my proper bundle to arrive (went for the full set with the white vinyl!) - looking forward to hear it 'properly' as the promo has an issue where "Chameleon" (or, if you're lucky enough to have a copy of Under Asphalt, "Condom" as it was originally known!) is corrupted and keeps breaking up... And yeah, sorry, 33 was uploaded to myspace and then deleted after a day, with only Mono making it over to Kidbones and the Joni Mitchell weird cover appearing on youtube (pulled after 11 views when the people who owned the footage to the Hindenberg Disaster blocked the vid). Sadly, technical ineptitude prevents me from sharing the full thing

Oh, thank heavens my copy of "Chameleon" (and no, I don't have Under Asphalt - "Condom"??!!) is absolutely perfect! Yes, I realize vinyl is the best, but right now I don't have the time to actually sit down and listen - so I listen to cds in the car and my player at work - someday! I really do like this album - but I'm having a hard time deciding whether I prefer it or "Gone For Good" - hard decision, but fun

silence & trench - can you give me some recommendations, as you're both obviously more aware of what's out there by Jeff Klein than I am - I've become obsessed with the sound of both "Gone For Good" and "Preachers" - does his other music have the same feel as these two albums - by that, I mean the way he writes the songs - and the way he sings them? What would you recommend that I pick up next? Thanks in advance - doomed

Can do I guess... And yes he does - My Jerusalem sort of came about when what would have been his 4th proper album (which would have been called Lets Be Enemies) sort of split into 2 and went a bit weird... Sleepwalking* was put out ages ago as a Jeff Klein song before appearing on Gone For Good, and I Just Want My Fucking Life Back was listed as an early track on Gone For Good before appearing on Death Of The Fox. It's all a bit confusing Everybody Loves A Winner is a very reflective album (produced by the very reflective Matthew Ryan, who's got a new album out this month and it's a stunner), The Hustler is a bit, for want of a better term, darker as it deals with various ex-girlfriends for the most part and it can get a bit uncomfortable in places (co-produced by Greg Dulli, which probably explains everything) but it's a great record. *For those who haven't noticed, there's a whole album of people covering Sleepwalking - ex-colleagues, friends and neighbours - available digitally, well worth a listen.

Are you sure about that upload? It's no problem if you don't want to, I was just chancing my luck when I asked.

Couple of additions:
Jeff Klein
Kiss & Tell (Unreleased single, about 2005ish) Different version to that on DotF, promo CDs fairly easy to find on ebay

Pity All I Want Another Breakdown Ballad Of The Average White Boy, Pt.1 Messages Mr Brownstone (uncensored - IIRC, the AFD one isn't) The 19th Hole Nearly Motionless Stripped We Were 6 And 9 Everything Is Alright (Live) Keep It Like A Secret Holding In The World Suzanne California Holding In The World Demons Be Gone Without You
My Jerusalem
Sleepwalking Super Gay(e) Remash Free download a while ago, loungey reworking/remix/rewhatever. Includes bongos.
Bury It Low EP Album Version Dugout Mix Unethical Mix Where You Want To Be
Demos, Live and B-Sides (2012)
Valley Of Casualties (FM4 Session) Under Your Skin (Live In Berlin) Gone For Good (Live, doesn't say where) Proposition (Kensington Hotel Demo) Remember Everything (Demo) Under Your Skin (Kensington Hotel Demo) Bury It Low (Unethical Remix) Sweet Chariot (Live NPR session) Shake The Devil (worst remix ever made) Proposition (Daytrotter) - available digitally on Mother's Day 2012, think it was another 24-hour release. Some tracks appear on the US iTunes-only Sweet Chariot EP
There's also the live Under Asphalt CD (another private release), not got that but I know someone who does so I'll try to get hold of the tracklist.
Ooh - and this thing he did with Joseph Arthur which I don't think appears anywhere else

Okay - first of all, I can't begin to thank both of you enough for all of this information - second of all, my credit card company thanks you from the bottom of its heart - that's IF I manage to find even a fraction of the listed songs! Thirdly - I've come to the conclusion (after days of listening) that "Preachers" is a perfect album. Period. It's perfect. It could not be improved on. And I had thought "Gone For Good" was the ultimate album! I am so glad that I found Jeff Klein and that he has so much music out there - and that I have friends here at onewhiskey to help me find it!! Thank you both!!!! doomed (yes, I am)
