Not sure if this thread has been done already. Keep it top 5 if you wish, should be interesting and fun. I'll start the ball rolling. 1. The Stone Roses Heaton Park 2012 (can't decide!# 1. Mark Lanegan Leeds Brudenell Social Club 2010 3. Nirvana The Duchess of York Leeds 1989 4. The Smiths Middlesbrough Town Hall 1986 5. The Orb Liverpool University 1994 6. Metallica Whitley Bay 1992 7. Suede Teesside University 1992 8. The The Newcastle City Hall 1989 9. Death From Above 1979 Lowlands 2005 10. QOTSA Newcastle O2 Academy 2008
Well I don't think its my defining top 10#its the ones I can recall# but it got my brain working for a bit. Surprising the ones I forgot about#Nirvana for gods sake!!) that came popping back into me head, probably have to revisit this list next week!!!

Cool
1. Jonathan Richman Whelans Dublin mid 90's. Solo gig with a spanish guitar and a towel to kneel on for the solo's. Incredible. 2. Mark Lanegan Roisin Dubh Galway early 2010. He was going to fetch up somewhere on the list. 3. 16 horsepower Whelans Dublin 2000?. All encompassing eerie feel. But in a good way. 4. Townes Van Zant Whelans Dublin mid 90's. Solo. Three sheets to the wind and still one of the best. 5. The Cramps SFX Dublin mid 90's?. Lux placed his mike on a stage monitor and chopped it in half with his mike stand, lower half and lead flew into the crowd like a ribbon in Gymnastics. Beautiful. 6. Kinky Friedman Whelans Dublin mid 90's. Solo. Funny. 7. Buddy Guy National Boxing Stadium 93ish. Any blues you want, he finally got bored of standing in the shadows. 8. The Velvet Underground mid 90's a stadium near paris. Never thought I'd see this, the rest of the band managed to pull the broom handle from Lou's behind long enough to let a couple of the songs take flight. Off the chart. 9. Girls Against Boys Mean Fiddler Dublin 90's Venus tour? Cool and good. 10. The Levellers The Academy Dublin 2011 I thought they only had one song and I was wrong.
Thanks Micky, that was fun.
Memories, light the corners of my mind...

Jonathan Richman - good call!
Not in order and no doubt I've forgotten a few + some dates probably wrong by a year:
Mink Deville - Aylesbury Friars 1976(ish - first gig and completely fantastic) Lou Reed - Brixton Academy 1984 (one of the nights where Lou was really upbeat and chatty) Bob Dylan - Brixton Academy 2004 (the gig that started me going to concerts again) Iggy Pop - Forum, Kentish Town 1988 (Iggy in really good form - great set - good band) Mark Lanegan - Union Chapel 2010 (special venue for an accoustic set) Bruce Springsteen - numerous, but Brighton 1979, second row! Pogues - numerous Christmas concerts at Brixton - always a riot Soulsavers - Electric Ballroom (best I've seen Mark with a band - perfect sound and great set) The Who - Wembley 1979 (Who's greatest hits - fabulous) Leonard Cohen - O2 2008 (O2's too big, but we were 12th row and Cohen is wonderful live) Kate Bush - Oxford 1978 (Kate's only tour so very lucky)
That's 11 so cheating. Didn't think I'd get to 10 when I started. Honourable mention to C W Stoneking who was thoroughly entertaining (if you like old timey blues) at Koko in 2010. And looking forward to Cat Power at the Roundhouse tonight.
