wow - 16 is young. Usually it's at least 19! That's cool though. I hear the place is under new management, and is getting some good shows in now. I WISH I could go, just to get to see Mark play with the people who have listened to me talk about him for years!

You know what's funny?
A thread with 3 Canadians debating whether or not they're going to a show in the US, & 1 American wishing she could.
Life is cruel sometimes.

Personally, I couldn't give a shit about smoking but the drinking age is a little high.
Another reason Canada is better.

but you're an american, you guys have pretty strict laws for smoking as it is, right?
Ireland is also tightening up their legislation, I hope a lot of peeps will be disappointed if this turns out to be an EU trend.
ps you'd rather have a banana anyways, I know you would!

I think the anti-smoking thing will become a worldwide trend. It's all about health care costs. Smoking is bad for you & it's (political suicide to say anything but it's) fine if you do it to yourself, but no government wants to fork over money to care for millions of people who were made sick by other people.

i honestly dont like smoking in doors either and I AM a smoker sadly I just like to smoke in bars. It's the kind of environment where I'd enjoy a beer and a smoke while I watch the game (Go Canada) but I havent been going to bars much since smoking was outlawed. Post. Script: 21 for a drinking age is disgusting. I feel bad for you flutter.

More and more places are becoming smoke-free establishments. It almost seems like it’s becoming a pain in the ass to smoke anywhere. (Not that I smoke anywhere anyway. It has been six years since I quite, thank you very much.) It’s kind of weird to think back when I was tiny and remember seeing people smoke in the grocery store. Side thought: I wonder if the cost of cigarettes balances out the cost of cigarette-related health care issues?
Oh and the thought about having the drinking age be 21 is ridiculous. It should be 18. At 18 a person is judged as an adult in courts, can purchase cigarettes, can vote and can be drafted. By all other accounts, 18 is allowed to do everything else that adults can do…. except drink. There’s something wrong here…

it should be 18.
I dont know what the high school graduating age in America is but considering its 17-18 in Canada even 19 sucks. I will be finished 3/4 of college before I can legally drink. Luckily for me getting hooch is way to easy around here.
