According to his facebook, ben shepherd is announcing something tomorrow. it's pretty vague. any guesses? I bet it isn't gunfighting music.

Guessing and hoping he will announce a release date for his looooong awaited solo album. In the alternative, gunfighting music with ML will be an equally welcome announcement.

it's kind of creepy how this sounds like The Winding Sheet with better production value.

Been listening to it constantly the last couple of days, looking forward to the vinyl dropping. And I think I might have mentioned in another thread just how much like The Winding Sheet this is (certainly the first half), and in the best possible way EDIT: shades of gunfighting with 1st and last tracks too... EDIT again: vinyl arrived today, really nicely packaged!

Really enjoying this album. Ben is so fucking talented, I hope him and Mark work together again someday. That gunfighting music will always be highly sought after!

I like the album quite a bit. My favorite song from it is "The Train You Can't Win."

ok i'm just finally getting around to listening to this and think it is amazing so far....but has anyone listened to the song koda and think it's eerily suspicious that Ben's old pal Mark is on a release titled "frog trouble" and ben is apparently using live frogs as backup singers for this song?
the release dates for "frog trouble" and "in deep owl" are so close...is this some inside joke between the two? if so, it is brilliant. I realize "frog trouble" is a Boynton song, but ben may have decided to include the frogs as a tribute or something...who knows! If anyone gets a chance to see Mark or Ben in the near future they should ask them about this!

FINALLY received from amazon.ca today but worth the wait with a few nice surprises: A digital download card, an HBS guitar pick, a full lyrics sheet, and nice colored blue vinyl (which I believe may be a Canadian exclusive according to something I read on facebook from Ben).
Anyway, the big thing here is the music is fantastic! (and the frogs are courtesy of the Foxglove Lane House!)
