I have to say, it does my nut in when people keep taking photos. didn't mind video so much (not like at a gig when people hold their phones up and all you can see is a sea of phones //rant over//). Great gig, hope mark didn't feel irritated by cameras and feel obliged to play to make up for the gallery fiasco, but a very cool effort on his side to make it up, and an apology. nice to have guitar and bass as well. If anyone could post the setlist I would be grateful, I was mildly out of it.
I didn't go to the gig after, no ticket, but glad I could see a very special intimate performance.

I managed to film the entire performance but as the room was so dimly lit it pretty much is 'Mark in the Dark' the audio though can clearly be heard. Sounds perfect! We don't usually get to see Mark in full light anyway do it's the audio that matters the most. Can't wait for your links! And THANK YOU for recording it for us

It was very good of Mark to perform the gig for all of us that were told the wrong time at the gallery show and missed out... this was a truly unique performance in a very unusual setting. Mark was at the pinnacle of his 'Mark-ness' choosing to sit at the side and perform in a particularly dimly lit room but the fact that we got to see it at all was a blessing indeed. I managed to film the entire performance but as the room was so dimly lit it pretty much is 'Mark in the Dark' the audio though can clearly be heard. I hope that it doesn't cause upset to Mark filming this kind of performance (or any) but I think it's cool that those who don't get to see these kind of events (limited visibility with this filming) and are really genuine fans don't feel like they have missed out too much (She Bangs The Trums, who I saw at the Gallery show and I know would have been disappointed not to be there). I'll post a link to YouTube when I've uploaded the footage, it's in parts so that I did not exceed the upload limit (and also to stop people from profiting off a 'complete' performance). Love you Cheekybee!!! did your daughter get to go? Also can't wait for the video - you just made my night!!! And it was already fab after seeing the awesome Leonard Cohen!!!!

I've tried to increase the brightness but it really is Mark in the Dark My daughter didn't come along to this gig but did enjoy the Union Chapel gig.... when you're 10 there are only so many Mark gigs you can face in a month :-D

I've uploaded the first 2 songs.... unfortunately it takes ages and my connection is not great (so please be patient). I've said before that the picture quality is terrible (black :-)) and to be fair it's done on a small Canon Ixus camera so don't expect broadcast quality. It is however better than nothing and hopefully will be a little something for those that were not there or able to make it. One way Street - youtu.be/egVtrsZloE0Phantasmagoria Blues - youtu.be/j30yGmb7dBUGrave Diggers song & Cherry Tree Carol - youtu.be/xQHMaVCrCsYMack the Knife & You Only Live Twice - www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUybWeo0oY0 One Hundred Days & Mirrored - www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUybWeo0oY0Bombed & When Your Number Isn't Up - www.youtube.com/watch?v=53u6mUHh61EThe youtube 'auto fix' has helped with the low light but the quality of picture has suffered (but at least you can now see Mark)

cheekybee, the way one street video is surprisingly well lit considering the room!
Love the guitarist but he totally makes me feel sea sick lol

Actually as it was so dim in the room it was only about half way through I noticed that one of the microphones was blocking the shot, I moved it out of the way for the later songs.... The ability for Youtube to improve the brightness has helped to see the 'action' but it's meant that some of the sharpness of picture is lost. Trying to see Mark from where I was sitting was quite awkward so I ended up placing the camera on the furniture and balancing it for each of the songs. Hope it's still a treat for you guys :-)

"And I would have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for those meddling kids..." :-D
I did wonder how many of the devoted forumites were in the room.

I've added all the songs now fro the pre-gig gig that I filmed. I have a few songs from the main gig but not too many as it's a bit rude to be going to a gig and filming everything..... plus I'm one of those people who tries not to have a illuminated screen ruining the atmosphere :-)
The other songs will be uploaded onto my youtube channel soon.

At Le Guess Who festival The Fall played a show shortly after Mark's. The Fall's singer Mark E. Smith was sitting way back and singing from behind an amp for a while during the show: Next day Mark Lanegan is sitting and singing way back ... Am I the only one seeing some similarities here??? Lovely videos Cheekybee, thanks.

Your link for One Hundred Days is not the good one Cheekybee (but it's not difficult to see all the videos anyway). Thank you, they're great, this gig seems very unusual !

I laughed so hard, where is this voice coming from?! Is he sitting on the toilet or something..?! Hahahaha Poor guy... All those damn eyes all the time. If I had to deal with so many eyes I would've gone crazy by now. I'm glad he found a way to be a bit more comfortable. The more he can be himself the better the outcome sounds great. Very generous of him to give people a second chance for those who missed it. Thanks cheekybee for the videos! And that pic of the singer of The Fall cracked me up hahaha
