I'm new to the board, so if this topic has been done to death I apologize, but does anyone know if Mark has ever or will ever do a duet with Waites. They have similar qualities vocally, and every time I listen to Mark it just sounds like it'd be pretty awesome. Anyone know? Thoughts as to what it would be like?

it has never happened.........and it probably never will. sorry to be a party pooper, but you need to be realistic. oh, and there is no Santa Claus. he's fictional...like goblins....or Norwegians.
Zombies, however, are REAL!!!

i wonder if anyone has PROOF that Mark sings anything at all. I mean, it could be Tom doing anything? Proof, mutherfuckers!!
I just couldn't help myself, please ignore the above.

But, sticking to the topic, I would never want to hear one. Duets usually work best when they are two different styles of singing (IMHO), and then there would be the inevitable discussion of 'who does it better' etc...

and yes, zombies are all too real.
mark himself has a loyal army of the undead, they help around the house, vacuuming, dusting and answering fan mail.
i heard this rumour he has a group of hard-core zombies who modified their appearance using plastic surgery to look just like Mark. This is useful to avoid assassination, US invasion and doing shows he'd rather not do. Just a rumour though, no proof they exist at all really...

Figaro the problem is you're SO CLOSE to the truth, die and i have been ordered to put you off the scent. It's our job in the organisation (zombie dis-information division).

I come from a long line of Norwegians.. we're easy to find....quote] i would LOVE to see a long line of norwegians. i still cant wait to see the equator... the idea of 'a menagerie of lions running round the centre of the earth' appeal to me greatly. anyone get that? no? on my own on this one.........? yes? no? and there's no 'e' at the end of Tom Waits. ive gotta go... as they say - tom waits for no man... (again) m.

I think Mark sings the new Waits song 'Make it Rain'.
At least, that's what a friend told me, and listening to the song, I'd tend to agree.

gaad, i dont know any sevilla colloquialisms. or any saville road ones for that matter.
by the way, has anyone seen coffee and cigarettes with tom waits and iggy pop doing a sketch playing themselves. waits is late for their meeting and apologises saying he´s actually a doctor. i think its out in the u.s. now.

Yep, I've seen it too, a while ago though, can't remember who else is in it though. On the duet thing, Waits' new album has a kinda different feel to it with a more upbeat dance quality, it's pretty good but very diff to what he has done before, and I don't think he would duet with Lanegan, their vocal styles are too similar as someone else said, plus Waits' is now working with cuban musicians and going down that path.
