Sad news this morning. Big loss. And especially so to those of us that grew up in the 70's.

I feel a bit numb and fucked up today. Just got back from 2 (news free) weeks away to be smacked in the face with this. Bowie has been a part of my life for over 30 years helping me through highs (and highs!) and with the shit, a lot of shit. 1983 i had a Bowie tutorial, were my best friend over that summer would give me a one album a week ( like a kinda case study) in chronological order to listen to, he was a Bowie fanatic and i needed to find out what the fuss was about. I soon found out why! Over the intervening years and £1000s spent on concerts, records, tapes, videos, dvds etc etc this has been a wonderful, fantastic experience. Just the thought they will be no new tunes and no Bowie is hard. He is a true icon. He is a true influence, a major keystone in British music history and a "sad loss" will be the understatement of the century. Sorry for waffling but i hope you've all had a happy new year.
