"This book is a collection of song lyrics". I'd hoped for more!

OK, clarification: US release date is August 15th. UK/Europe release date is Sept 5th. So we all get it in time for the new shows! Amazon Germany also has a release date of August 15th. On Amazon UK it's August 31st. I'm really looking forward to this. I'll get it as an e-book, though, so I don't think I'll have it signed

The Amazon date disparity/confusion is (as a guess) because it's maybe only being published in the US, and being shipped out to distributors elsewhere (which would also explain the non-PR over here, a bit of a shame to be honest), so depending on where Amazon are getting their stock (US publisher direct or outside distribution) depends on when the rest of us are likely to be seeing it. It's being sold at shows as well, so anyone who is still waiting when his gig roll around can just pick one up there instead. Barrett Martin's book & CD is shipping worldwide next week too! So you wait however long for an ex-Screaming Tree book, and two turn up at the same time

it's been a great read so far. I want to discuss some of the chapter intros, but dont want to be too quick with the spoilers for those who are looking forward to reading for themselves.

Nothing wrong with starting a new thread titled something along the lines of I Am The Wolf Discussion [SPOILERS] - those who want to or can participate can go for it. Just a suggestion, I don't have it yet!

I'm guessing mine will ship tomorrow since Amazon listed the release date as Aug, 15. It will most likely take a LOOONG time to arrive but hey, such is life. Can't wait to discuss it with you guys!

I bought a copy at NY show last night, & got it signed. I should probably check the office in my building to see if the copy I ordered arrived! Guess someone will be getting this book as a gift

My copy arrived yesterday, and I read it from cover to cover in about an hour! Played a few of Mark's songs to accompany the read, obviously. It's a beautiful book, with chronological lyrics not only from his solo work but also his collaborations (e.g. Mad Season, Isobel Campbell), and a narrative from Mark (describing his writing processes, state of mind etc.) at various points.
I guess some photos and/or illustrations might have been nice, but that's a very minor quibble; what stands out are the beauty of Mark's lyrics and his humour, honesty and humility.
I thoroughly recommend this book!

I'm very dissapointed with this so called book. A few anekdotes, no pictures and very little background stories given by mr Lanegan and most of the stuff he writes we already know. Not worth my € 22 on bol.com
