According to a recent interview, it seems that Mark Lanegan and Duke Garwood have released a new album! For those who can read franch, here's the article: exitmusik.fr/interview-mark-lanegan/#comment-22723For the others, the title of the album will be "With animals". It'll be out in April 2018. It was released in California. There'll be a lot of synths in it... but also songs with acoustic guitar. It's a great news!

Definitely thrilled. I enjoyed Black Pudding. Acoustic guitar + synths make up for a trippy combination, let's cross fingers.

I spoke to Duke for a minute after the Seattle show, and he said they would do another album, but that it would take some time. I didn't realize it would be so soon! Looking forward to it, though, I loved Black Pudding.

Looking forward to it, though, I loved Black Pudding. Great news. Similarly, I spoke with Duke after his show in Leeds in 2015 - he told me they would do another album together. Told him I hoped there'd be more vibes like Bleeding Muddy Water, he seemed cool with that

Keep riding those coattails, Duke Heavy Love was 10 times better than anything Lanegan's released since Blues Funeral...with the exception of the Houston demos of course.

As long as I don't have to see Duke opening for ML ever again, I'm fine with this. Saw him eight times now, enough is enough. Same for Lyenn. Just because it's easy and cheap to let your bandmates open, it's not great to do so for years and years.

Well, I really like Duke a lot. For me he is very inspiring and a very unique artist. I was quite sad not to see him in Dresden in November. Of course, individual musical taste is very different, but I think Mark chooses only people to play before him if he likes their stuff and not because it is "easy and cheap" (I hope every artist is happy with their opening acts if they are big enough to have a choice). So next time, just grab a drink on the bar and get outside and talk to people, smoke a cig or whatever. I did that when Cardamone was playing as I realised his music is not my cup of tea, others seemed to like it. Mark solo is already worth a lot more than the money you spent for the ticket (actually only hearing Mockingbirds in the encore was a total payoff). Please treat people with respect.

I think ever since I first saw Mr Garwood open for ML at Leeds Brudenell nearly 8 years ago(holy shit!) It just set the tone for the rest of that night, it just seemed to fit(if you know what I mean). Yeah i get sometimes due to set list the MLB might be playing on that particular tour ie leaning on a more heavier side\set, this might be the case were it doesn't work, that's were you get negativity (O2 Ritz 2017\Boiler Shop 2017). But seeing him perform at the York Opera House and especially Hebden Bridge he was fuckin unbelievable! Domiknock hit it on the head, don't let it wind you up going talk to people or have fag\spliff whatever. I think I've said this before on another thread, that I still find it so funny and rediculous the division and debate one man causes.(which is a good thing). Happy New Year Peoples

All I can say is that I'm really looking forward to this. As far as Mark's catalogue goes, the Garwood record is a standout record for me. Or rather, it is a record that has a lot of depth that doesn't follow the grain of any Lanegan's other releases. Everyone has their opinion, but I'm really excited to hear what they have been cooking up over the last three years.

August 24 and the first track is on iTunes. Probably other services too, but I haven't looked into it too much. I actually found it by accident when trying to track down Garwood's first album.

I 've bought "With Animals" this afternoon, I've already listened to it three times. "Feast to famine", "My shadow Life", "LA Blue", "Lonesome Infidel", "With Animals", "Spaceman"... So many beautiful songs! Mark's voice and lyrics, the music, Duke's way of playing the guitar... It's a wonderful album! I hope everyone here will love "With Animals" as I do...
