It's, I guess, the very start of the book narrated by M. Lanegan. Just an excerpt.
Thanks for posting this. I look forward to receiving my hard copy. I am tempted to order that audiobook now I have heard that.

yeah for sure. surprising to read about Courtney Love as well. I've always heard negativity and didn't think there was much positive to be said about her.

Missed the Facebook feud but it's weird that the focus of the heat here is with Van Conner because it's Gary Lee that repeatedly gets characterized unfavorably in the book. Van fares way better. Lanegan himself fares much worse...and Liam Gallagher gets it the worst (and most hilariously) of all.

Oh man. They're really gonna be pissed if they read the rest of the book. There's nothing even on that page.
Sincere thanks for posting this!

i haven't read the book yet, and don't know anything about their dynamic other then what all parties have shared in various media over the years but the Conner brothers seem to be real petty about everything. The Trees were probably their whole livelihood and it sucks when your band breaks up but many bands break up for many different reasons all the time. To still be so incredibly bitter about it 20 years later, and to freak out that much over one page of a whole book, is a bit much.

I love the Trees and I'm probably enjoying this drama way more than I should.

There is some serious resentment in those comments.
As for Mark playing Trees songs live that pretty much never happens nowadays as he has so much solo/collaboration material to make a set list.
