Well this is a nice surprise! www.factmag.com/2019/07/16/mark-lanegan-not-waving-downwelling/Experimental producer Alessio Natalizia, aka Not Waving, and alt-rock icon Mark Lanegan have combined their talents on the year’s most unexpected collaborative album, Downwelling. Appearing under a (brilliant) new alias, Dark Mark lends his gravelly voice to electronic compositions recorded by Natalizia between London, Italy and Paris over the last five years. Listen to the first single, ‘The Broken Man’, now. The album arrives after a series of inspired collaborations from Not Waving, including projects with Jim O’Rourke and Jay Glass Dubs. Downwelling arrives on August 2 via Ecstatic Recordings and is available to pre-order now

Is there no CD release?
They are cheaper to produce than vinyl and sell about 8 times as many copies.

Each to their own but I like the flexibility with CD such as identical copies on FLAC, downscaling to MP3 for portable devices, plus being able to play the whole thing without having to change sides (bar double cds). I am clumsy so flipping big slabs of vinyl is a recipe for disaster. Vinyl seems a bit of a retro fad that is a big backwards step. Hi resolution audio should be the norm but streaming will probably kill all physical formats with this vinyl hype only appealing to a niche market.

Amazon at least has the option now, but lists it as 'currently unavailable.'

We really should be moving forward with Blu Ray Audio and DVD Audio and these formats are getting smothered by vinyl that is an utterly inferior format. Anyway, if you are prepared to pay import costs from the UK to the US, get a signed copy of Somebody's Knocking here: www.recordstore.co.uk/search.html?term=Mark+Lanegan+somebody%27s+knocking

My vinyl has arrived - love the cover reminds me of the peaceable kingdom paintings by that Quaker artist whose name escapes me.
The music isn't my usual style but it really does have an atmosphere and style that I wasn't expecting. A cracking listen!

I just realized the whole damn record is streaming at the pre-sale link: boomkat.com/products/downwellingYou can listen to one song without buying it...but if you hit the tab for clear all that pops up at the bottom right hand corner after you listen to one song, you can then listen to another. Not sure they meant to do this, but you can listen to it if you want to! Sounds like some crazy soundtrack to a movie....good stuff!

Could track 5 from the FLAC Download be corrupted? On Mac, I use xACT to convert it to lossless m4a (for iTunes) and it can't handle this file, also after re-downloading. VLC plays it, but I think it sound somewhat weird. A very quiet and hard to understand ML in the end of the song. Track length shows 3:04, but music stops at 2:52. Can anybody clarify? Can't convert to wav either, it says "MD5 signature mismatch" Maybe there is a kind soul, who can provide track 5 as a .wav for me to try it out?
