New song from Somebody's Knocking! Like a beautiful mashup of Psychedelic Furs and New Order but still its own thing. Cannot wait for the full album. Obviously the Name and Number drop was a mistake...

All these songs sound really overproduced. I think of all the Lanegan albums after bubblegum, Blues Funeral is the only one that sounds really good. It sounds like you’re in the room with the band. These last few records all sound like they were created in low resolution on a laptop (which they probably are) with a tinny filter. I feel like I would enjoy these last few records a lot more if they sounded better.

Haven't heard the new tune yet but I do agree something about the sound of Gargoyle and Soembody's Knocking has been a bit off from a production standpoint. I'm no musician but they come off a bit too distorted and hollow at times. Agree that Blues Funeral had that nice clean/robust sound to it that really thumped from the speakers. Even the distortion-heavy tracks on Bubblegum still sound full and clear. Maybe someone more articulate on this subject can provide a better explanation. I will say Playing Nero sounded pretty solid from a production standpoint, but Stitch It Up and Name and Number seemed to suffer from the overproduced sound.

So far, this is my favourite of the released songs Toss-up between this and Stitch it Up for me. My fiance isn't keen on Mark and even he likes S.I.U. so hope it brings Mark some new fans.
